New Music Video: Target Practice – Coco

Sheffield Grime MC COCO has just dropped the visuals for his brand new single Target Practice,  produced by BBC 1Xtra and fellow Sheffield native Toddla T.  The video sees the duo in a natural but nostalgic video, with some live footage of the track being performed live at a rave with some guest cameos.

Grime followers will know he has been MCing and producing grime music for close to 10 years. Uninspired by the Grime scene, COCO began creating his own music which has seen him make his way on to the radar of many DJs and other artists alike, gaining nationwide exposure and featuring across national platforms.

Target Practice is now available on iTunes.

Upcoming Release: Even If – Ceiling Demons

Following the release of their acclaimed debut LP, Dual Sides, alternative hip hop dwellers CEILING DEMONS are back. Their new single, Even If, marks the return of producer Beat Demon, after a mysterious disappearance to the Far East. Reunited once more with Psy Ceiling and Dan Demon in their homeland of the Yorkshire Dales, the track is a hopeful homage to the people who pass through our lives.

In celebration of Yorkshire Day, the single will be available as a free download via Soundcloud on the 1st of August. Even If will be officially released on the 17th of August, alongside exclusive B-sides The Quiet and Feels Like Forever’.

CEILING DEMONS have festival dates this summer joining the likes of Wu Tang Clan and Kate Tempest at this year’s Tramlines Festival in Sheffield on July 25th, and returning to their home town as second headliner before Funeral For A Friend at this year’s Richmond Live – 31st July.

Upcoming Release: Bond – L-Nize (ft. Mark Asari)

After the successful release of his debut single, Blowin My Mind featuring Qwote,  producer Dj L-NIZE is on the verge of dropping his new track Bond.

Instead of following the current trend for creating house remixes of classic R&B hits, new single Bond offers a refreshing alternative: Originally written lyrics and vocal melodies. L-NIZE not only produced Bond, but also wrote the lyrics. The result is a bass-heavy house beat blended with soulful vocals which give the track an R&B touch.

A fat, grooving, synth-bassline is the perfect playground for uber-talented vocalist Mark Asari, who assists on the track. London-based singer Mark Asari is best known for contributing the vocals on the UK Top 20 Hit Revive (Say Something) in a collaboration with LuvBug.

Bond is available on iTunes from 31st July

New Release: Bamboo Circus – Ash Walker (ft. Segilola)

ASH WALKER has just unveiled his new single Bamboo Circus featuring Segilola on Soundcloud. The track is the second release from his debut EP Agnostic.

Segilola adds her soulful-tinged vocals to what could be defined as the most classic dub sounding cut off the EP.  Agnostic has already been supported across BBC6 music radio shows and They Don’t Know Me was the most played track of the day on the BBC player this week.

Agnostic is set for release on 31st July,  look out for it…but for now, check out the rub-a-dub Bamboo Circus.

New Release: Sticky Blood – Professional

Andy Nicholson and Jamie Shield  – aka- STICKY BLOOD, have just released their mysteriously moody effort, Professional, the first release from their forthcoming E.P.

Formerly members of Arctic Monkey, the duo combined their talent in 2013 with the aim of bringing the sound of the future. Setting up in their home town, Sheffield they’ve perfected their skills and focus on working with talented artists across the industry.

They produced Terri Walker’s album last year, which was championed by  national radio stations from the likes of Annie Mac to Gilles Peterson. BBC Radio 1’s Toddla T and The People’s Charlie Sloth are massive fans of STICKY BLOOD’s production style. They even managed to raise the producer’s eyebrows at Red Bull, who are eager for these boundary pushers to record a session, set for release in August.

Having produced drum & bass beats for Mc DRS, the production maestro’s are currently creating rhythms for George The Poet, Coco and Tom Prior…it look pretty certain that 2015 is set to be a productive year for these guys!
