EP Review: Limits – Keeping The Faith

Limits Keeping the Faith

It’s been a while since Ian Halshall – aka KEEPING THE FAITH – has made an appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC. The dubstep/drum ‘n’ bass beatmaster has been busy setting up his new record label IDGAF as well as churning out on-points productions, including his latest project, Limits.

Released last month, this three track EP just displays this producer’s stamp on the dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass.  Larger-than-life tracks, Limits (DNB edition) and Move On includes his trademark of collision of vibrant beats accompanied by the heavy drive that leaps out and shocks you and pull the old heartstrings…but on the same note it gets you moving!

You made of the hard stuff? Well have a listen to the EP!

If you’re feeling Limits EP, have a sample of his latest track, Bounce.

Song of the Day: Closing the Journal (ft Pip Mountjoy) – Ceiling Demons

ceiling Demons Dual Sides EP

Today’s song is Closing the Journal by British alternative hip-hop duo CEILING DEMONS. The track is coming from their thought- provoking  LP, Dual Slides, released in December.

CEILING DEMONS consists of Yorkshire-born twin brothers MCs Psy Ceiling & Dan Demon – and let me tell you they are a force to be reckoned with. Upon its release, Dual Sides received raving reviews in their hometown.

No doubt their bizarrely angelic stamp on hip-hop will spread across the globe in no time.  Just have a listen to Closing the Journal as it’s the perfect introduction to their bitter/sweet fusion with let-the-truth be-told and hard-hitting lyrics. The production is topped off by BBC Introducing’s unsigned singer/songwriter Pip Mountjoy’s soothing vocals.

The hip-hoppers were described as a cross between THE STREETS’  Mike Skinner and DJ SHADOW – the truth is they’re definitely in a league of their own. If you’re feeling Closing the Journal, pop over to their Bandcamp page and check out the album.

You can say hi to the guys @CeilingDemons.

Back in September, this hip-hop upriser was right here on NEW LEASE MUSIC with his hot notch mixtape ST33LO.

Now he’s back with another old school, seriously easy-grooving production. The beat really sounds familiar but can’t  put my finger on it – maybe you guys can help me out – answers below please!

If you’re feeling Billions, it’s worth checking his mixtape ST33Lo right here.
