After the success of his most recent single Not Afraid, VAGABOND FLAG is due to release the second single, Those Old Days.

In his latest offering, the London-based rocker addresses taking a retrospective look on life – the benefits of being older and confident, whilst also growing more and more cynical. The four-minute production also addresses the excitement and innocence of youth, before it fades and pleads not to forget the beauty of impeccability and naivety that we are all blessed with when we are young.

The track is perfectly topped off with soaring guitar riffs and laid back vocals that possess a reminiscent quality of 90’s British rock music.

Those Old Days is due for release on 15th December , with the album coming out on the 12th January.

EP Review: Lost Letters – Argovia

Argovia Lost Letters

If you’re a fan of the MUSE and PORCUPINE TREE, then I have a sneaky feeling you’ll like ARGOVIA.

The Venezuelan rock duo unleashed their debut EP, Lost Letters late last month, in which they described each emotionally fuelled songs as ‘ love letters that’s never been sent’. So expect the angelic presence of the  keyboard and tranquil vocals with an almighty splash of post alternative metal and grunge. Enjoy!

EP Review: Childhood Home – The Healing

Childhood home The Healing

I came across this little treasure which comes in the form of a four-track EP, Childhood Home, by London – based panoramic rockers THE HEALING.

Why is this EP a real treasure? It’s just good wholesome music, nothing less. Consisting of Jim Moreton (vocals, guitar), Nicolas Py (drums), Sam Thiery (bass) and Ariel Moreton (harmony vocals), the band pull together a perfect mix of melodic guitars and drums with groovy rock undertones and dreamy vocals that reflect on the years of a rollercoaster childhood.

Their stamp on soft rock have been widely compared to heavyweights, NEIL YOUNG, WILCO, LED ZEPPELIN  KURT VILE, LUCINDA WILLIAMS and THE BEATLES – but after listening to this EP, I can’t help but think there’s a slight feel of  1970’s FLEETWOOD MAC.

Have a listen and see if you agree.

Song of the Day: Everything – Feexer

Today’s song is Everything By Italian-born rock artist FEEXER. The single is from his debut EP, Diamonds and Defects, released in June.

Starting out last year, FEEXER released a collection of songs online and gain some exposure through SoundCloud, expanding his online fanbase. This is thanks his smooth blend of  indie pop, acoustic rock and electronica which bear strong elements of  his main influences which include NIRVANA, RADIOHEAD and A PERFECT CIRCLE.

The indie rocker is now working on new material – so expect more releases in months to come and live shows in 2015…but for now take time out and listen to Everything. If this track hit the spot, have a listen to his EP right here. Enjoy!

Song of the Day: Won’t You Please (Tell Me Something) – Let’s Say We Did

Let's say we did

Today’s song is Won’t You Please (Tell Me Something) by Swedish Lo-Fi band, LET’S SAY WE DID. The single is coming from their four-track EP, Such A Shame released in May.

With strong influences  from American indie bands in the 1990’s, LET’S SAY WE DID has created guitar based, lo fi indie pop since 2008. Having risen from the ashes of previous projects, the five-piece band began perfecting and releasing music on their own record label Nesna Records. To date they have released two albums, three EPs, a series of singles and appeared on several compilation albums.

In addition to festival appearances such as at Umeå Open, Island in the Sun and Rookiefestivalen in Hultsfred, these smooth indie pop rockers have performed at numerous club gigs around Europe. Their smooth, chilled out productions earned them a personal invitation by British band YUCK as support act at their release party for the album, Glow & Behold . The band’s invitation extended to a collaboration as frontman Sebastian soothing vocals are featured on YUCK’s latest EP, Southern Skies.  As a band, LET’S SAY WE DID  collaborated with other acts such as WITHERED HAND, IDA MARIA and TOP SOUND.

Now I brought you up to speed with the band, have a blast at Won’t You Please (Tell Me Something). They’re one of the few bands today who put that real smoothness back into rock with the perfect balance of the drum and guitars.

If you like the sound of Won’t You Please (Tell Me Something), it’s worth checking out their latest EP, Such A Shame
