Album Review: Taurus Rising – Chill (of 3KNGZ)

chill of 3kngz

From the hip-hop act 3KNGZ, it’s CHILL‘s turn to come into the spotlight, with the brand new album, Taurus Rising – his first solo project in over ten years.

With arrangements varying from hard-hitting rock to the familiarity old school soul and R&B, in true 3KNGZ style, the veteran delivers reality-bites wordplay that’s second to none.

It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted…but if you can stand the heat in the kitchen, it’s worth a trail!

Must Listens: Love of the Money, Master Plan, Inner Peace.

Album Review: African Fabrics – Daniel Haaksman

African Fabrics Daniel Haaksman

Berlin-based DJ and producer DANIEL HAAKSMAN is, without question, the forerunner of  giving world music that punch of excitement and he certainly makes no exceptions in the latest album, African Fabrics.

The 11-track effort boasts the fiercest Afrobeats going with the equally fierce electronic drive –  a sweet yet explosive combination that never brings a dull moment.

It’s definitely a groundbreaker – experience (what I call) tropical house for yourself; hit that play button NOW!

Album Review: When the Crows Come Around – Paleface Junkies

Paleface Junkies album

It’s been a long time coming for PALEFACE JUNKIES fans out there. In response to popular demand,  the brainchild behind the act, Kid Vibe got himself together and dropped his 20 track-album, When The Crowds Come Around last month.

Collaborating with a string maestros, including fellow St Louis hip-hop outfits, 3KNGZ and Liquor Store Bandits, he takes golden hip-hop to another level, injecting a real smooth vintage vibe that hits the soul.

If you haven’t sampled this emcee’s work and you like vintage hip-hop filled with seriously politically charged lyrics, well this mammoth collection may be your bag. Check it out right here.

Album Review: Pieces of Me – Malynda Hale

Malynda Hale

Since her last appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC with single Hey Stranger, I always wondered what happened to songstress MALYNDA HALE. Six months down the line,  the curiosity was quashed when she slipped me her full-length album, Pieces Of Me.

With lessons of love, heartbreak and self-discovery all faced with unflappable optimism, the 11-track collection boasts seamlessly soothing soundscapes of modern R&B, pop and at times drive-time rock, with are all lifted by that classically rich soulful vocals.

This lady hasn’t lost her touch; it’s worth investing your time to check out this treasure via iTunes.
