New Music Video: Flex Like Dat – Olami Still

Fresh off its premiere via DJ Tiiny on Capital Xtra and its addition to the Spotify ‘Rap UK’ playlist, 19-year-old OLAMI STILL, dropped the release of his fourth single ‘Flex Like Dat’.

Influenced by his fathers love of hip-hop and rap music, the Londoner started writing original music at the tender age of eight and following the response of his 2017 EP release ‘Guide Me Out’, had a chance champion in DJ Charlie Sloth via 1Xtra, hit No. 3 on the iTunes Hip/Hop chart & number 48 overall iTunes chart.

Continuing his musical development, OLAMI STILL demonstrates the passion and influences that have continued to shape his music with his latest release. Produced by emerging production talent “Thrilla”, ‘Flex Like Dat’ is reminiscent of old school hip-hop, with the choppy keys and Olami’s smooth flow marrying together on this pre-summer vibe….check it out!

The Fireflys release repeat
Today’s song is Release/Repeat by British four-piece rock band THE FIREFLYS. The single is set for release on 26th May.

I remember reviewing the Runcorn rockers’ 2013 album, Embers of the Autumn on Nothing But Hope and Passion (NBHAP) Music Magazine  and it’s SO intriguing to see what they have been up to….

Since the release  of Embers of the Autumn (5th August), THE FIREFLYS played at, O2 Academy Liverpool, their biggest biggest headline to date, as well as enjoying the media attention. The morning after their performance at the O2, they played a live set in the BBC Merseyside studio and also earned a double page spread in one of the biggest publications near their home town, The Liverpool Echo.

Embers Of The Autumn  entered the iTunes Chart at #8 upon hours of its release, and entered the Radio Caroline Chart at Number 35 and is currently at #17. The single Hummingbird was played on BBC introducing by Dave Monks prior to the release of the LP.

As I was typing out their achievements, It left a tear in my eye (don’t laugh!)

Moving swiftly on… have a listen to Release/Repeat. Their trademark of that easy-cruising rock will be added to their ever-expanding list of achievements. If you’re really digging the track, show your appreciation and say hi to them at @thefireflys.

Star song: 1982 –El Born

el born 1982

Today’s song is 1982 the, debut single from British alternative rock band, EL BORN.

Since forming in May of this year, the London-based act is already making waves; they’ve done back-to-back live performances across London and they were also featured on BBC Sessions in June.

It comes to no surprise that these guys generated interest in no time, as 1982 is simply a pleasant production, with effortlessly cool but gutsy vocals that instantly grabs your attention. Since its release in May, 1982 reached number 19 in the iTunes chart. It was also featured on ITV’s hit drama Monroe and coldplay.com.

Go on, have a listen to 1982, as this song really deserves your undivided attention. Like me, if you’re a fan after listening to 1982, head over to their website, where you can get to know this talented band.
