New Track! Pieces Of Me – Jake Aldridge

After ten years in the business, JAKE ALDRIDGE has just released his ‘best work yet’, Pieces Of Me, featuring long-time friend and vocalist Kelly Jenns.

2015 has been a busy year for the Suffolk-based R&B/hip-hop artist. The 27-year-old has seen his music video for previous single, Give You The World, which was filmed in Spain, go to number one on the VTYO video charts.

He has signed a publishing deal with Leopard Music, a synchronization deal with Go DIY Records and also secured a sponsorship deal with Asian-based RudeBoy Clothing Line. The smooth operator also became the first artist outside of the US to win a feature competition hosted by music blog, Daily Hip Hop Jamz, receiving more votes than anyone else.

Known for his heartfelt delivery over smooth rhythms, Jake’s music career came unexpectedly after losing his father at just 11 years old and eventually turned to his diary as a way to cope with his grief. He started out with a £12 microphone and a pop shield made from a sock.

Judging from his impressive CV, he’s come a very long way! Pieces Of Me is available via iTunes.

Song of the Day: Caught Up – Jairod

Let’s start Friday off on a cool tip with today’s track Caught Up by JAIROD. The single is taken from his album, Night And Day, released in August.

The R&B singer/songwriter/producer began cultivating his musical ear at the age of seven, composing basic melodies on his grandmother’s antique piano. His well-developed craft is often compared to R&B singers Brian and Brandon Casey of Jagged Edge, Tank, and John Legend.

Despite the comparisons, the Alabama-born newcomer  strives to be an original, incorporating both old school and contemporary music of all genres to produce his own unique representation of R&B. His writing generally consists of an artistic display of personal experiences, thoughts and emotions that’s relatable,  providing his take on love, heartbreak, and life.

Song of the Day: Sex And The City – Velous

Artist/producer VELOUS has been a busy man in the past 18 months. From signing with French Montana’s Coke Boys imprint via Swanky Music Group, producing Chinx’s Dope House, as well as appearing on Fabolous’ standout record Gone For The Winter, the Kingston, NY native has definitely left his footprint on the music scene. Moreover, early this year, the youngster was further thrusted into the spotlight after producing Kanye West’s much talked about single All Day.

Since then, VELOUS has been tucked away in the studio putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming debut project The Disco. With the project produced entirely by the man himself, it will also feature his brand new record Sex And The City. The track was first played by Boi-1da on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio last weekend, prompting him to leak the record himself at the behest of listeners. Brooklyn-based R&B singer JOVAINE makes his debut with his latest single, Ooh Girl coming from the 11 track album, WHAT’S THE MOVE PT II (expected release date 30th October).

At 14, JOVAINE is already an online phenomenon with massive followings across the social media spectrum, fast finding a fervent fan following with his presence, natural talent, and remarkable vocal tone.
