Song of the Day: Get Up Now – Zoe & Zara

zoe and zara

Having enough energy to cure the world of all negativity (described by a host at Cafe Concerto) sparked the formation of London-based soul/jazz duo ZOE & ZARA.

The twin sisters waste no time and released their debut smooth soul effort, My Man and follow-up upbeat and melodic single, Beat Up in My Head. Continuing their pattern of soulful, feel good music, latest releases include Get up Now and Cool Love.

The singers/songwriters are currently working on their EP at the Roots Over Rock studio in Waltham Cross whilst also performing at a string a of venues and festivals in the most trendy parts of London,  including Passing Clouds in Dalston, Music Is My Drug in Shoreditch and Bounce Festival in Richmond Upon Thames.

Before the formation, Zara entered the Jazz realm and performed on the London scene between 2009-2010. At this time Zoe performed within theatre, winning an award for ‘Outstanding Performance’ at the 2010 Leatherhead Drama Festival.

So if you’re having a stressful Friday, these guys will take care of that…have a listen to Get Up Now.
