New Track: Don’t Go – Basheba

Basheba Don't go

Featuring a soft, house piano line and echoed backing vocals,  BASHEBA’s latest effort, Don’t Go, gets  a makeover from two producers,  XVR BLCK and Musika.

Musika has enhanced the soulful vocal by adding in a beautiful guitar instrumental, where XVR BLCK has given the track a more funky edge, with piano riffs.

Born and raised in London by her British Dad and Bajan Mum, BASHEBA  has been honing her musical craft from a young age, beginning to write songs aged 14. Inspired by her Bajan roots, BASHEBA has lived and breathed music ever since, starting her own record label, Y.O.B Records (Youth of Britain), in late 2013 and she has so far released 2 EP’s: Bad Friends, Good Enemies and Sessions. BASHEBA is keen to continue creating evocative narratives through her music. She says, “A song is nothing without a story. I’m a storyteller, I just tell my stories through song.”

So hear her story and listen to the original version of Don’t Go. The single is coming from her latest EP, Axiom Part 1, out now.

New Track: Soho Ride – Farida

Farida soho ride

I’ve just found this beautiful track on SoundCloud, performed by Norwegian singer/songwriter by the name of FARIDA.

This gentle songstress-on-the-rise, who opened gigs for heavyweights including Ne-Yo, has ingeniously put a delicately fresh spin on neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop. Lead single, Soho Ride, features the perfect airy balance of R&B with the flirtatious rhythms of the Middle East. This three-minute of heavenly bliss is for the ladies who find themselves in a dead-end relationship, as the message is – let it loose; it’s OK be alone.

Soho Ride is taken from her latest album, The 25th Hour, available on SoundCloud.

Album Review: Taurus Rising – Chill (of 3KNGZ)

chill of 3kngz

From the hip-hop act 3KNGZ, it’s CHILL‘s turn to come into the spotlight, with the brand new album, Taurus Rising – his first solo project in over ten years.

With arrangements varying from hard-hitting rock to the familiarity old school soul and R&B, in true 3KNGZ style, the veteran delivers reality-bites wordplay that’s second to none.

It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted…but if you can stand the heat in the kitchen, it’s worth a trail!

Must Listens: Love of the Money, Master Plan, Inner Peace.
