Upcoming Release: The Grass Ain’t Always Greener – Darren Parry

After a successful 2016, DARREN PARRY  is not slowing down (literally) anytime soon and kicks off the new year with a ZZ-Top-esque stomper, ‘The Grass Ain’t Always Greener’, set for release later this month.

The self-penned reflective production features the Welsh multi-award winning singer/songwriter on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, with long-term collaborator, Rob Devereux providing the go-wild guitar riffs, and vocalist Kaysha Louvain (heralded as the “Welsh Bonnie Raitt”) on backing vocals.

Last year,  Darren extended his impressive CV by writing and producing for other artists, including teen sensation, Nina Jones (‘Promises’) – featured here on NEW LEASE MUSIC-  and Lee Gilbert (‘Soar’). ‘Promises’, written especially for Nina, has received a Semi-Finalist position in the 2016 UK Songwriting Contest (judges included Stuart Epps, Shelley Peiken and Kipper Eldridge) and an enviable Runner Up position in the 2016 USA Song Of The Year contest (judges included Alicia Keys, Steven Tyler and U2’s The Edge).

‘The Grass Ain’t Always Greener’ is out for download on 28th January via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and all good retailers.

For now, go crazy and check the single.

New Track: My Reflection – King Washington

KING WASHINGTON beautifully blends vocal harmonies, surprising progressions and blues tinted indie rock. Taking influence of 60s and 70s California folk, the band successfully adds a modern new rock edge, crafting a flavour all of their own.

Comprising of Tyson Kelly (vocals, guitar, keys), George Krikes (guitar, vocals), Billy Lee (bass, vocals) and David Contreras (drums), the band have a natural grace for connecting with each other, with their deep vocal harmonies, soaring guitars and driving drumbeats. The musical collective delivers an exceptionally polished yet intimate live experience, with LA Weekly voting them as one of the top ten live bands.

Their latest album, Potential, found inspiration from pain, growth and acceptance, resulting in their ever evolving sound. This unique blend of folk, indie rock and 60’s soul, has been described as “The New California Sound”.  Leading single My Reflection is evident of this, in it’s cinematic vibes, layered sampled beats and textured soaring harmonies, resulting in flurry of quiet intensity.

KING WASHINGTON’s successes include notable radio adds, opening slots for Arctic Monkeys, Ambrosia and Collective Soul. Potential will be released January 27 worldwide with an accompanied national tour.

For now, have a listen to My Reflection.

New Track: Cleopatra’s Eyes – Miss

London-based electronic/rock duo MISS have unveiled their latest track, Cleopatra’s Eyes late last month – shifting from their notorious electrifying moody and dense soundscapes to infectious/sensual arrangements, which creates a rich warm sensation.

Time to spice up your Thursday…have a listen to Cleopatra’s Eyes.

New Track: Kinkajou – Miss

Following the release of their debut EP, Do You Feel Electric? in December, electronic-rock duo MISS are back into the spotlight – and let me tell you – this time around, they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Unlike for delicately dark compositions featured in their four-track set, the explosive offering makes way for the gritty, low-down funky guitar riffs, flirting with the wayward drums, which creates a too-cool-for-school, 70s vibe. If you have a moment, boost your day and listen to the London-based alternative rockers at work.

New Track: N.O.N.T.K – Shan
