Guess what hip hop heads…the best master is back with his latest mixtape, 15 Minutes of Fame. Released last month, the 10-track album is bursting with shoulder swinging, get-off-your-butt-and-move bass line, finish off by the hip-hop artist’s second-to-none freestyling.

15 Minutes of Fame kicks off real good with Make You Look, which features on-the-money samples of NAS’ hit with the same name. And this guy knows how to use hit samples and make it his own…just listen to Trophies. TC UNO gave DRAKE’S hit a new lease of life by adding more bass and drive coupled with faster-than-lighting raps and laugh-out-loud wordplay.

TC UNO is known (by his loyal fans) for his on-the-spot raps…and he didn’t disappoint as he effortlessly spits in easy-cruising  PoundCake (Freestyle) and Inferno (Freestyle).

15 Minutes of Fame doesn’t fizzle out with last track, Family Affair. With summery, throw-your-hands-up-in-the-air beats and soothing raps, this track has all the right ingredients of becoming a summer anthem.

Usually at this point, I offer my conclusion on an album or mixtape…15 Minutes of Fame is TOO good for that. So the next is to head right here and check it out for yourself.

EP Review – Room for improvement – E-Thrilla

Ethrilla Room for Improvement

UK rapper/producer/songwriter E-THRILLA is determined to take hip-hop to another place through his EP Room For Improvement, released last month.

In this 3-track production, the Manchester-based artist incorporates the genre with refreshingly-light and echoic modern melodies, as featured in Simple and Ready. Romance Is Dead brilliantly samples PALOMA FAITH’s single of the same name, which is infused with his trademark of that modern, slightly sped-up simple and light undertone.

Room for Improvement is an EP that leaves you wanting more. With such innovative approach to hip-hop, it’s intriguing to see what E-THRILLA will do next…so stay tuned for more updates!

For now, have a listen to Room For Improvement (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

Know FLYAC? Nope…well let me introduce you…FLYAC (which stands for Forever Young and Comfortable) is a six-piece hip-hop group from Woodbridge VA, consisting of MixMasterAle (Engineer),  (Engineer), Nico Green (Engineer/Producer/Artist), Legend Guevara (Artist), Xander (Artist), Anonimous Sound (Artist), and Double D (Artist). Started out two years ago, they recently joined up with another local group called Another Planet Ent and together they came up with a 14-track mixtape Long Overdue.

Released last month, the mixtape starts off with some smooth vintage beats then hits you with in-yer-face beats coupled with straight talking, reality-bites wordplay. Think SLUM VILLAGE meets a mild WU TANG CLAN.

Tracks  Wake Up, Red Wine Awwwe and Vibe features that vintage hip-hop drive where the raps that cruises with the production. The mixtape heats right up with the old-school, head rolling Rhythm4TheMind and When the Chips are Down (SUPERHOT TRACK, MUST LISTEN). Long Overdue goes out with a BANG with the super smooth, super-slick, SLUM VILLAGE-esque, Dreams.

This is ONE mixtape for serious hip-hop heads. So if you haven’t heard these guys in action, I suggest you have a quick sample of Long Overdue…and there’s no better place to start than the beginning….
