New Music Video: Where Are We – Manze Raider (ft. Ruell)

Following the release of track Where Are We,  MANZE RAIDER has dropped a striking music video this week. The single is from his upcoming debut EP of the same name.

Expecting to drop 6th November, the E.P features two tracks (Where Are We and Delilah) where the Sheffield-born producer/artist creates a vibe that has flashbacks to 90’s raves in the warehouses of Sheffield, mixed with futuristic soul; an eclectic mix that is a cross between old school greats like Shy FX and Goldie and new school kids like Chase n Status, mixed with a sprinkling of electronic synths reminiscent of the Prodigy.

Where Are We takes a soulful stance with a deeper lyrical content from Ruell over a chilled D&B beat. In contrast to the energetic Delilah, Where Are We displays Raider’s ability to capture a more haunting ambience through varying uses of syncopated drum beats and acoustic instrumentation.

Where Are We EP is now available to pre-order on iTunes.

Song of the Day: Kelis – Rumble (Beatnik Remix)

Rumble Kelis
Check out this bad-boy remix of KELIS‘ track RAMBLE by UK producers BEATNIK.

Having received some huge support on their remix work over the last year from Kiss FM, Radio 1, 1Xtra and Capital Xtra on their versions of MARIE DAHLSTROM’S What’s it Gonna Be and DALEY’S  Broken, and going Back to Back with DJ TARGET on 1Xtra, London-based BEATNIK are all guns blazing in the competitive producer ring.

Confirmed as official tour DJ’s for KELIS, the drum and bass/jungle connoisseurs will be covering The Great Escape, Glastonbury as well as dates in Ibiza, Switzerland, Holland, France and Geneva.

They have also been given residency at the W Hotel in the Wyld Bar every Wednesday from 10pm, so if you find yourself looking for a cool new place to hang out then you’ve just found it!

But for now check out the video – enjoy!

Star Song: Dreggae – Lights Low (FdX remix)

Dreggae Lights Low

I am proud to present the first ever reggae track to have grace NEW LEASE MUSIC – Lights Low.

Known as the ‘unsigned’ legend by his fans, DREGGAE is the master  of mixing reggae with hip hop, drum and bass and dubstep. Jamaican-born DREGGAE moved to Atlanta where his musical journey  started whilst studying at Southern Georgia University . Teaming up with fellow classmate Peezy (forming the duo T.E.F.L.O.N.) they experimented and created a signature sound of reggae and hip-hop in their dorm room. He went on to join forces with musician ECG to win The Tupac Shakur Foundation back in 2009. Two years later, he released his LP The Unsigned Legend, which clocked up a huge fan base across the globe, with the tracks, We Rep JA (feat Kardinal Offishall) and It’s Not Over.

Have a listen to Lights Low and you’ll know why he’s dubbed ‘the unsigned legend’. The reggae/drum and bass /hip-hop infused production just displays that this guy is a cut above the rest. Truly a breath of fresh air!
