The UK hip hop crew made up of Birmingham-Manchester based producer/rapper Subvert and rapper Kaypa.

Kaypa started rapping at the age of 10 and Subvert also found his passion for music at an early age. The duo are working on their debut project Born Inner Struggle which will feature their collaboration with west coast rapper Mopreme Shakur, member of Thug Life and step brother of  TUPAC SHAKUR – look out for that!

Made for Greatness is what SUBVERTED KAPERS all about where anti-establishment and encouraging lyrics meets seriously chilled-out, golden hip-hop beats – go ahead and check it out!

Mixtape Review: Y.O.D.A – K.I.N.G Holloway

Dallas-based emcee K.I.N.G HOLLOWAY dropped his fifth mixtape, Y.O.D.A (You’re On Drugs Again).

The 18-track gives an insight in the 22-year-old’s life – and boy, it’s a roller-coaster ride! Featuring clever takes of 70’s classics with seriously head-rolling bassline, this hop-hop wordsmith spits (in his raspy and husky voice) lyrics that seriously rips through the soul – and (at times) have you on the floor in tears of laughter!

Y.O.D.A is a mixtape that incorporates various musical styles where this talented rapper switches his flow to every single beat. Overall, it’s just GOOD music – enjoy it right here.

Today’s track is Hype Kills, the eight and final episode of Sneaks Is Watching miniseries by AMIR DRIVER.

Sneaks is Watching is an 8 episode visual depiction of his concept  latest EP, The Sneak Tape. The latest project gives viewers and listeners a detailed insight into 24 hours as a dedicated sneaker enthusiast.  Shot by Barry “Bphresh” Bryant of Phresh Films, the episodes follow Driver as he pursues a brand new coveted release.  Each song plays as a score for a single episode, documenting the events taking place throughout Driver’s day, as he narrates us through the series.

Ceiling Demons

Since their last appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC, these Yorkshire alternative emcees have received unbelievable amount of recgonition. Following the release of their acclaimed début album Dual Sides,  identical twin brother MCs Psy Ceiling & Dan Demon, along with producer Beat Demon,  have supported YOUNG FATHERS (Anticon/Big Dada) in the UK stretch of their world tour. They were also  featured on XFM by Scroobius Pip and have recently supported  DE LA SOUL on their 25 year anniversary tour of cult classic ‘3 Feet High & Rising’ at York’s YO1 Festival.
