Afrobeats duo YFS regularly frequent Spotify playlists, building up hundreds of thousands of streams across their work. YouTube displays a similar story with videos such as ‘Be Someone’ and ‘Ale’ providing the understanding as to how long EsDee and Hakeem have been building their name and legacy, whilst more recent records such as ‘Way I Live’ show their continued growth.
Premiered via DJ Tiiny on Captial Xtra, their latest single ‘Mine’, produced by WhoElseButJuelz is playful, sexy and has soul and jazz undertones flowing around the soft tones and accents of YFS, further adding to their consistency of releasing quality records. The duo have become pioneers in UK afrobeats due to their relentless release schedule, awarding them with a cult following.
Having already worked with the likes of Wizkid, Maleek Berry, Burna Boy, Iyanya, 2Kriss, Olamide, Kojo Funds, SK, Sona, MoeLogo and Kwamz and Flava, they have also received numerous co-signs from industry big hitters in the Afrobeats scene. Their debut show at Camden Assembly sold out and they have supported Wizkid at Hammersmith Apollo as well as performing in Nigeria.
With their unquestionable determination and awareness rising quickly around the two young stars, it’s fair to say YFS are on a steady path to further success….have a listen to ‘Mine.’
