New Track: Throw It Back – Manu Crooks

Fresh off its premiere via DJ Target on 1Xtra, Australian rapper MANU CROOK$ reveals huge new single ‘Throw It Back’.

The blistering  record  is produced by  MANU CROOK$ and co-produced by DOPAM!NE, featuring fellow African-Australian  artist B Wise after the pair previously collaborated on Manu’s single ‘Best Years’. ’Throw It Back’ serves as a follow-up single after the success of “Fuego” (feat. Anfa Rose) released earlier this year.

Manu has just finished a national tour supporting Alison Wonderland, and recently performed to thousands of people on the main stage at Listen Out Festival. 2019 sees Manu as the only Australian artist on the bill for the first Rolling Loud Festival outside the US. Praised as the biggest hip-hop festival in the world, Manu joins massive names such as Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti and Tyga for the first ever AU edition to be held in Sydney in January.

With over 10 million collective views on YouTube, and 20 million collective streams on Spotify, MANU CROOK$ closes the year with another certified banger.

It’s been well over a year since the ANE  – an acronym for “A New Era” – released her EP ‘Bitan’. This week, the Korean-American singer/songwriter decided to break that year-long silence with her brand new single ‘Physical’, released on Monday.

Cutting through our digital world in search of something tangible, the Malcolm Fong-produced song serves as an appetizer to tie fans over until ANE‘s next project…so stay tuned!

New Track: Ronaldo – Nick Brewer

NICK BREWER has been on somewhat of a journey over the last few years. From a top 20 hit with ‘Talk To Me’ on Island Records, to seemingly disappearing. But Nick has been slowly but surely building back up over the past 18 months, regularly releasing new material to acclaim from a new generation.

The ‘Sidelines’ EP is Nick’s first EP since 2015. Nick explores the realities of what it feels like being on the sidelines. Watching everything unfold in front of you knowing that you can make an impact if you take one step forward. The EP also features guest appearances from KREEA, FAVELA and vocals from Kadeem Tyrell.

The second single from the EP ‘Ronaldo’ – out now – features soundbites from John Motson depicting Nick’s recent highs and lows, similarly to those of Ronaldo (No.9). Each verse sees Nick playing with words just as poetic as a football at the feet of Ronaldo.

On the track Nick says “Brazil’s Ronaldo is a legend. Watching him rip up numerous world cups while I was growing up is something I will never forget, and this song is a way of paying homage to him, while also making a statement about myself and how I aspire to have a similar impact in the music world.”

Nick will be performing at Bermondsey Social Club (London) next Monday (10th December) –  a night not to miss. For now, check out Nick’s sizzling track below…

New Track: Stories – Dear Pressure

Made on separate computers and in separate dorm rooms over the course of a year, Matt Kahane and Quin Kiu – aka DEAR PRESSURE–  have completed a piece on the other side of finishing college.

That piece comes in the shape of ‘Stories’ which boasts melodically sweet overtones, accompanied by a soulful (Tom Misch style) b-line. The three-minute smoothie represents the next big chapter in the Toronto duo’s life as they leave college life behind, wondering what’s in store for the future.

Why not check out ‘Stories’ below…and if you like what you hear, be sure to look out for this pair as they plan to release their debut EP next year. The project will follow the same theme as the current offering…only a little darker and more cynical…
