Song of the Day: Big N Serious (Remix) – Coco (ft AJ Tracey & Nadia Rose)

coco big n serious

After tearing up the airwaves with the original, COCO has just dropped the remix of Big N Serious featuring Nadia Rose and AJ Tracey.

Sheffield’s hottest property recently performed an epic freestyle on Kiss FM for DJ MK & Shortee Blitz. From ticking all of the right boxes with the music tastemakers, including dropping his explosive Fire in the Booth for BBC DJ Charlie Sloth, through to performing at Notting Hill Carnival and making his debut at Ibiza Rocks last year, COCO has bypassed the route of the recent ‘new generation’ of emcees to solidly construct his own lane.

Named as one of Annie Mac’s artists to watch in 2016 in Mixmag, he’s definitely on the tip on everyone’s tongue…check out the remix to Big N Serious.

New Track: Fight – Aeo

Aeo Fight

Emerging British singer-songwriter AEO releases his debut single Fight – a rousing and emotive Pop/Soul effort, beautifully crafted with burgeoning production duo OL Music (Rainy Milo, Skepta, Jake Isaac), which lands the South London native firmly on the radar, as one to watch for 2016.

The 22-year-old has been cutting his teeth on YouTube, via a string of stellar cover videos in 2014, which has caught the attention of many across the UK music landscape, and led to live performances at Acoustic Live, Uprise and The Gifted showcase, alongside the likes of Paigey Cakey, Mostack, and Ms Banks.

Inspired by great British vocalists such as Sam Smith, Kwabs and Lemar, AEO showcases his own brilliant vocals and songwriting dexterities, on this new offering, underpinned by a rich musical backdrop of piercing piano and guitar arrangements, minimalist drum patterns and thrilling choral melodies.

Speaking about the inspiration behind his  single, the powerhouse said: “the lyrics to Fight are inspired by my pursuit of a career in music, which has spanned five years so far. I’ve had to fight for what I believe is my first love and passion – music. This song tells that story, and it’s a personal note to myself, telling me not to give up”.

New Track: Scenery – Jordan Sefton (feat. Shayne Brown & Reem Remi)

jeff Setfon

All three vibe off each other and give this free-flowing record energy and that old school flavour that has the potential in coming a summer hit – and further cement the North London rapper’s place in the underground hip-hop scene.

New Track: Shelter – Joy Oladokun

joy shelter

Described as raw, honest and heartwarming, LA-based singer/songwriter JOY OLADOKUN has revealed a brand new single, Shelter, the first release from her forthcoming debut album, Carry.

Combining roots rock, folk with a splash of ambient pop, the four-minute effort sees the present-day Tracy Chapman delivers, in a soulfully-raw style, the meaning of giving and receiving love without reservation.

Writing and playing the guitar from the age of 10, Joy has always used music as a way to make sense of the struggles and celebrate the triumph of life. Last year, she released her self-produced debut EP titled Cathedrals.

To put her next project into motion, Joy started a Kickstarter campaign and received $30,000.  The project comes in the form of  the debut album Carry, which is set for release on April 29th…but for now, get a sneak peek of the album and to listen to Shelter.
