New Track! Leaving – Taya Sophie

Taya Sophie

Manchester singer/songwriter TAYA SOPHIE is back with her brand new offering titled, Leaving, taken from her EP, Know My Name.

Ready to carry on the momentum that was generated from her last track F**ked Up,  this almost three-and-a-half-minute track displays her wide range of singing abilities whether it is hitting high notes or singing smooth melodies.

You’re forgiven if you think Leaving is a song about a girl liberating herself from a deadbeat boyfriend – in fact, it gives a personal insight into a father and daughter relationship.  The song was written to illustrate how close a father and daughter can be, especially at an early stage. The song talks about a daughter leaving her father in order to move in with her boyfriend. The essence of the song displays the highs and lows of this type of relationship.

A video to the single, shot in the songstress’ hometown last year, will be coming out very soon. Once you watch
the video, hopefully everything will make sense!

Currently working on new material, this is the first instalment that is from her new body of work that will only wet
the appetite from wanting to hear more from this promising young scarlet.

Leaving is now available on iTunes.

New Music Video: Valium – Sticky Blood (ft. Gaby Henshaw)

STICKY BLOOD
return after an array of quality music in 2015 that turned the heads of the major music tastemakers. The Blood is Stickier Than Water E.P, written and recorded at the Red Bull Studios, featured One Bar In ft. MC’s Coco & Snowy and Balance, which put the production duo on the map garnering support from Monki, Toddla T, Mistajam, Jamz Supernova, Complex, Clash and excitement through the indie music scene.

Following hot on its heels and showing exactly why they’re in such high demand with artists waiting to work with them, Sticky Blood dropped the infectious Valium featuring singer Gaby Henshaw.

The title Valium is used by the production duo as a metaphor to show the desire to be asleep where you can experience something away from reality and where things are unassuming. Like the description, the production follows its movement; it develops and builds as the tracks deepens with punchy club style drums mixed with anthemic style synths in the build-ups, and contemporary sounds in the drop and switch. It’s confident in its sound, and in the second part we see saturated bass and stuttered patterns. The twists and turns in their production style constantly surprise and highlight their diversity and intricacy.

The cinematic visuals match the portrayal from the lyrics and the beat with Gaby Henshaw depicting a girl up in the hills away from everything, but searching for something. It’s very much open to interpretation as to where, why and how, but shows desperation, and leaves the viewer considering and asking all types of questions.

Andy Nicholson and Jamie Shield have created a striking and unique sound that can move people emotionally working with established singers such as Terri Walker and Tom Prior, but also create Grime tracks at a 155bpm with up and coming MCs. They are fresh and innovative and continue to bring an exciting, rule-breaking sound to 2016.

New Track! Don’t Be Shy – Kane

Kane

As a preview to his debut album, KANE releases his silky smooth offering, Don’t Be Shy.

Oozing with soul and the makings of a sweet R&B slow jam, the British R&B singer showcases weak-at-the-knees vocal over a beat laden with classic guitar riffs and snares, with a more contemporary deep bass backline shining through that perfectly holds each aspect of the track together.

With an equally impressive video in the pipeline, KANE makes his mark with depth and quality to his work. The video, shot in his hometown of Tottenham in London, gives a sincere perspective of the singer and the song itself as the luscious, sweet vocal collides with the raw, inner-city visual surroundings. The result is that of authenticity and somehow gives a new edge to the record that you might have missed on listening.

He may only be in the early stages of his career but this upcomer already has quite a story that has propelled him to his current place in music. At the age of 17, he released his debut E.P Dreams, which resulted in him working with acclaimed songwriter Sam Hook (Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Mary J Blige) and releasing Turn It Up featuring Sneakbo. He then went on to perform at DJ Cameo’s Summer Love festival in Cyprus alongside Tinie Tempah before returning to the UK and performing with the likes of J Spades and U.S songstress, Ashanti, at the IndigO2.

Set to have a big impact on the music scene over the coming years, this cute face lays down some strong foundations for what is to come –  have a listen to Don’t Be Shy.
