Song of the Day: Venus – EarlGrey (ft. See Francis)

After releasing the critically acclaimed ‘Pulldown’ and ‘Overdue’ in 2016, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist EARLGREY enters 2017 with a bang, in the form of his brand new See Francis assisted single ‘Venus’.

Along with both previous releases, ‘Venus’ was self-produced, written and performed by the man himself and his creative collective TheVAMP, the track features Earl’s soulful vocal prowess, along with his attention to detail with the intricate production. Joining forces with New Jersey native See Francis, to add a guest verse to the track, the pair showcase exactly why they are two of the most promising new artists the music world has to offer.

As a member of creative collective, TheVAMP, EARLGREY has recent months collaborating with an array of talent, from industry veterans such as Ne-Yo to budding superstar MAAD. Fast forward to 2016, EARLGREY is setting his sights firmly on the spotlight and is on a sole mission to open hearts and inspire through music and storytelling.

Currently gearing up for a debut EP release due out in later this year, EARLGREY is well and truly making his mark on the scene, and cementing his status as a frontrunner of the new generation of cutting-edge neo soul artists. Like the tea, you can expect lush blends of silky and soothing R&B vocals on top of some dark and herbaceous hip-hop beats, accentuated by notes of rich and floral acoustics.

Check out his latest track, ‘Venus’.

Song of the Day: Sever – The Fireflys

After a prominently heavy hip-hop week here on NEW LEASE MUSIC, I decided to take it down a couple of notches and inject some soothing rock through this track entitled ‘Sever’ by THE FIREFLYS. The four-a-half minute piece of heaven is taken from their latest album, ‘The Illumination of Everything’ released last April.

Take time out and have a listen.

Song of the Day: Frontline Testimony – Sonz of Thunder UK

SONZ OF THUNDER UK has dropped their latest single, ‘Frontline Testimony’, taken from their EP ‘New Levels’.

The three-and-a-half-minute mood shaker which cranked up over 4,000 views on Facebook, boasts an infectiously uplifting reggae bass with the group’s prime aim to reach out to their audience through an equally uplifting and potently inspirational message.

Born and bred in north-west London, Brothers Shane (left) and Dean Brown started SONZ OF THUNDER UK in 2005… and their seamless fusion of genres, ranging from reggae to hip-hop and R&B, didn’t fail to disappoint. With their bombastic presence, the brothers have rocked the stages at a string of festivals, community events and talent shows.

2013 was a great year for the pair as they received great responses for track, ‘It’s All About Love’ after being aired several times on Channel AKA (formerly Channel U).

Their cover to Drake’s hit ‘Once Dance’ (entitled ‘God on the Mind‘) was well received by fans, clocking up way over 6,000 views and 100 shares and likes on Facebook alone.

Their biggest track to date, ‘More To Life’, dominated the airwaves of local community stations, creating major buzz around the pair in 2013 and 2014.

After taking a break for a year, the dynamic duo has made a comeback with  ‘New Levels’ EP in July 2016 via VP records sub-label VPAL. The eight-track collection includes anthem-ready, ‘God on the Mind’ and ‘More To Life’ and a tribute song to the late Nelson Mandela.

‘New Levels’ EP is now available on all major music download sites including iTunes and Amazon.

For now, charge up your Monday and check out ‘Frontline Testimony.’

Song of the Day: How You Like Me Now – Soho Kings

The dish of the day just keeps on coming here on NEW LEASE MUSIC – and today hip-hop/rap/pop duo SOHO KINGS steals the hotspot with their infectiously smooth track, which well documents their successes and the determination to make it to the top – but I can’t help thinking there’s a subliminal message for all the haters. Check it out and see if I’m right.
