New Track: Beluga Bitches Bollinger – Mr Bigz

Mr Bigz

Recently, MR BIGZ was here, featuring on Johnson Orchid’s track I Wanna Love (named song of the week by NEW LEASE MUSIC). The UK most charismatic hip-hopper isn’t kicking back anytime soon; instead he cranks up the charm to the max and drops latest single Beluga Bitches Bollinger, taken from his mixtape, My Funked Up Soul 2.

The single gives a first glimpse of the ten-track project and offers nothing less than two minutes of silky smooth rap with the hot property on the top of his game alongside trusted producer Turkish Dcypha (Island Records)

Adding a unique twist to some of his favourite classic soul records, the 2014 mixtape My Funked Up Soul was so well-received that he was inspired to create the S.U.M.M.E.R. EP shortly after. Tracks such as The Ride featuring Giggs, Finer Taste with Wretch 32 and Soul Food featuring Max Marshall – all playlisted on BBC Radio 1Xtra – helped the EP to the iTunes hip-hop top ten.

My Funked Up Soul 2 was released on Good Friday….ease myself into the mixtape and check out Beluga Bitches Bollinger

SlickdotR

Upcoming Release: I Wanna Love – Johnson Orchid

Johnson Orchid I wanna Love

Emerging London singer and songwriter JOHNSON ORCHID links up with veteran UK rapper Mr. Bigz for his first offering of 2016, I Wanna Love. The new collaboration comes on the back of Orchid’s acclaimed 2015 singles Girl and Dance It Off, and the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Reprezent Radio, MOBO Awards, SBTV, GRM Daily, ILUVLIVE, The Source and ThisIsRnB, all championing the London native in the past few months.

Taken from his forthcoming debut EP, which is due out this summer via Sagsco Records, the four-minute effort is a brilliantly smooth R&B offering, with excellent Funk and Pop sensibilities and a clear homage to the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. For his contribution, Mr. Bigz does only what is expected of a seasoned rapper and delivers his smooth trademark, with glorious wordplay and finesse, to close out the record.

Johnson Orchid

Speaking about the record, Johnson Orchid says, “I wanted to create a record exploring how love gives us the freedom to accept each other’s imperfections and insecurities. Sometimes I forget that we all come into relationships and situations with tattoos of the past that we’re all trying to cover up. ‘I Wanna Love’ is about me being less judgemental, and being more open to loving people for who they are”.

Next up for Orchid is a string of new singles and visuals, leading up to the summer release of his debut EP, which will feature collaborations with the likes of Grime veteran Scorcher, Youngs Teflon, producers Mikey SOS (Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, Emeli Sande) and P2J (Trey Songz, Krept & Konan, Stormzy).

I Wanna Love is due for release on April 15 via Sagsco Records.

New Music Video: Carousel – Nick Valentini Collective

NICK VALENTINI COLLECTIVE started out only six months ago and  the eight-piece Californian alternative rock outfit have already received praise in their hometown for fusing indie rock, jazz and experimental psychedelic soul.

The video to single, Carousel gives an insight to their much appreciated talent. Featuring Valentini’s soulful vocals, layered over smooth piano riffs and experimental clashing  guitars, the five-minute production boasts stunning animated visuals, which perfectly works in unison with the captivating composition.

Dubbed as “jazz fusion Radiohead”, the collective’s debut album is set for release later in the year and will be touring extensively this summer.

It’s not often I say this – the video and the song are truly BREATHTAKING…take a few minutes out of your busy schedule see for yourself.
