EP Review: Nobody Listens – Chris Patrick

Chris Patrick Nobody Listens

At beginning of this year CHRI DOLLASIGN released mixtape, S**t Real. Now almost eight months later, he extended the six-track production to a full-length EP, Nobody Listens under the new name, CHRIS PATRICK.

The added tracks (Live from The Living Room, Do Me Wrong and HighLife) boasts a more uptempo bassline where the South Carolina’s artist tighter-than-tight raps pours out pure emotion and passion – he has come a very long way in eight months!

Mixtape Review: Y.O.D.A – K.I.N.G Holloway

King holloway YODA

Dallas-based emcee K.I.N.G HOLLOWAY dropped his fifth mixtape, Y.O.D.A (You’re On Drugs Again).

The 18-track gives an insight in the 22-year-old’s life – and boy, it’s a roller-coaster ride! Featuring clever takes of 70’s classics with seriously head-rolling bassline, this hop-hop wordsmith spits (in his raspy and husky voice) lyrics that seriously rips through the soul – and (at times) have you on the floor in tears of laughter!

Y.O.D.A is a mixtape that incorporates various musical styles where this talented rapper switches his flow to every single beat. Overall, it’s just GOOD music – enjoy it right here.

The #MustListens:  You’re A Part of Me, Power of Cum, Mac, Heaven & Earth, Letter to my Ex, Recent Memories, Her Payback.

Guess what hip hop heads…the best master is back with his latest mixtape, 15 Minutes of Fame. Released last month, the 10-track album is bursting with shoulder swinging, get-off-your-butt-and-move bass line, finish off by the hip-hop artist’s second-to-none freestyling.

15 Minutes of Fame kicks off real good with Make You Look, which features on-the-money samples of NAS’ hit with the same name. And this guy knows how to use hit samples and make it his own…just listen to Trophies. TC UNO gave DRAKE’S hit a new lease of life by adding more bass and drive coupled with faster-than-lighting raps and laugh-out-loud wordplay.

TC UNO is known (by his loyal fans) for his on-the-spot raps…and he didn’t disappoint as he effortlessly spits in easy-cruising  PoundCake (Freestyle) and Inferno (Freestyle).

15 Minutes of Fame doesn’t fizzle out with last track, Family Affair. With summery, throw-your-hands-up-in-the-air beats and soothing raps, this track has all the right ingredients of becoming a summer anthem.

Usually at this point, I offer my conclusion on an album or mixtape…15 Minutes of Fame is TOO good for that. So the next is to head right here and check it out for yourself.

Mixtape Review: Potty Mouth – JaySin

Potty Month Jaysin

1. Potty Mouth Intro
2. Porta Potty
3. Roses
4. Enemies Bleeds
5. Horror Story
6. Death Wish
7. No Peace
8. Romance
9. DXB
10. Sh*t I Do It (Feat. Heavy Trev)
11. Role Model (remix)

Good news has come to Jason Slusser ‘s way since his last appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC with his mixtape Clear Eye’d . He struck a deal with record label Diverse Sounds Entertainment which led to the birth of his first professionally- recorded mixtape, Potty Mouth released last month.

Unlike Clear Eye’d , the 11-track mixtape is a less radical representation of his life. Roses is a perfect example of this upriser’s fresh stamp on hip-hop, as it features a smooth soulful drive which is coupled with the Chicago – born emcee’s heartfelt wordplay of love and encouragement.

He hasn’t  deserted his truth-be-told lyrics. In No Peace, JAYSIN raps about the corruption and the influence the government has over society, whereas  Horror Story gives an account of the overall harsh experience of his past  – both tracks possessing a dauntingly-dope bassline.

Potty Mouth definitely ends on a high with Role Model (remix). With seriously head-rolling beats, this track shows that this black sheep of society (his words, not mine)  is not leaving the hip-hop game anytime soon. The mixtape  displays that he definitely deserves his new chapter with Diverse Sounds Entertainment.  To experience JAYSIN’s world, check out Potty Mouth right here.
