Today’s song is The Tunnel by SERENA SOYA. Track coming from her EP Illuminated, released 31st of March.
The urban songstress burst onto the music scene in 2013 with her well-received EP Love and War and became quickly known for her straight up, ballsy delivery of lyrics.
Just check out The Tunnel and listen for yourself. Featuring her infamous truth-be-told and (at times) laugh-out-loud lyrics, this track is a soft explosion of 90’s-inspired drum and bass with a hint of R&B. So If you’re really feeling The Tunnel, it’s worth the visit to iTunes to check out her 7-track EP.

EP Review: Limits – Keeping The Faith
It’s been a while since Ian Halshall – aka KEEPING THE FAITH – has made an appearance on NEW LEASE MUSIC. The dubstep/drum ‘n’ bass beatmaster has been busy setting up his new record label IDGAF as well as churning out on-points productions, including his latest project, Limits.
Released last month, this three track EP just displays this producer’s stamp on the dubstep and drum ‘n’ bass. Larger-than-life tracks, Limits (DNB edition) and Move On includes his trademark of collision of vibrant beats accompanied by the heavy drive that leaps out and shocks you and pull the old heartstrings…but on the same note it gets you moving!
You made of the hard stuff? Well have a listen to the EP!
If you’re feeling Limits EP, have a sample of his latest track, Bounce.

Star Song: Dreggae – Lights Low (FdX remix)
I am proud to present the first ever reggae track to have grace NEW LEASE MUSIC – Lights Low.
Known as the ‘unsigned’ legend by his fans, DREGGAE is the master of mixing reggae with hip hop, drum and bass and dubstep. Jamaican-born DREGGAE moved to Atlanta where his musical journey started whilst studying at Southern Georgia University . Teaming up with fellow classmate Peezy (forming the duo T.E.F.L.O.N.) they experimented and created a signature sound of reggae and hip-hop in their dorm room. He went on to join forces with musician ECG to win The Tupac Shakur Foundation back in 2009. Two years later, he released his LP The Unsigned Legend, which clocked up a huge fan base across the globe, with the tracks, We Rep JA (feat Kardinal Offishall) and It’s Not Over.
Have a listen to Lights Low and you’ll know why he’s dubbed ‘the unsigned legend’. The reggae/drum and bass /hip-hop infused production just displays that this guy is a cut above the rest. Truly a breath of fresh air!
If you’re feeling Lights Low, head over to DREGGAE’s SoundCloud page, where you can hear more of his innovative tracks.
Star Song : Feel it – Keeping The Faith
If this doesn’t get you going on a night out, nothing will! Today’s star song is from KEEPING THE FAITH. The man behind the record label Ian Halsall drops another Dubstep/Drum ‘n’ Bass track called Feel It – and this guy is no stranger to the music scene. Back in the mid 1990’s Halsall worked on DJ/producer Andy Wetherall’s Sabres of Paradise label. After taking a break from the music, Halsall came bouncing back in 2012 producing electronic music, infused with dubstep and Drum ‘n’Bass. With the help of major social media websites, the dubstep/Drum ‘n’ Bass connoisseur’s bursting-bass line productions were exposed across the globe – particularly in Siberia, South Africa and New Zealand! Like me, if you’re feeling Feel It (get it!) you can listen to more of Halsall’s tracks here . Halsall will donate will future recordings to charity – nice guy!
