The heavy guitar plucks introduces ADERYN‘s single, ‘Please’ which brings on such deep grunge intensity. It tells an emotionally honest tale of unrequited love. While most songs of this nature vocally raw with anger, desperation and confusion, Aderyn shows much restraint, delivering a delicately poised vocal performance. She cleverly uses religious phrases to describe the aching experience, presenting love itself as its own kind of faith.
‘Please’ gives a snippet of Aderyn’s sophomore EP, ‘Hot Pink!’which goes on a roller-coaster ride of chaotic breaks-up, spanning across the indie pop/rock spectrum, which somewhat gives off 90s coming-of-age movie soundtrack energy with girl power grit. Hailing from a Welsh sheep farm, Aderyn (whose real name is Lisa Martin) has capitulated into the UK indie pop music scene as a promising firecracker. Starting out as a drummer in a grunge band at the age 16, Aderyn went on to become fully fledged alt-pop artist in her own right, earning titles as such as ‘Cardiff’s Queen of Indie Pop’ by Radar Magazine and receiving firm support from the likes of BBC Radio 1 Future Alternative, BBC 6 Music and Radio X.
