New Track: Pass Me By – Jovel

Jovel

I have another smooth R&B number, in the form of Pass Me By, coming from singer and rapper JOVEL. The single is coming from his debut EP The Void, out next month.

Featuring a brooding yet soulful/trap arrangements, ‘Pass Me By’, a song that firmly focuses on depression and suicide. The four-minute production is a great insight into the four-track set as it further touches on the aforementioned issues and also covers topics such as addiction, loneliness and emptiness. With the newcomer’s hard-hittingly raw delivery, the project flips between waves of alternative R&B, soul, pop and hip-hop.

Jove

The singer and rapper aims to make his new EP as interactive and engaging as possible. Unveiled in 15 second episodes on his Instagram account, JOVEL will broadcast The Void: An Instagram Movie, a compilation of completely fresh footage that interlink the EP’s tracks and videos together. Released fortnightly, each cut will continue a story that develops throughout the campaign, giving his fans the chance to interact with the Londoner directly.

The Void EP is all set for released on 20th June…but for now, listen to Pass Me By

New Music Video: The Ruler – Amir Driver

Amir Driver

It’s been awhile but  AMIR DRIVER finally makes his way back to NEW LEASE MUSIC and takes on the smooth title of The Ruler in his latest visual. As always, he spits undeniable bars, allowing listeners in on his impeccable rhyme scheme. The braggadocio content of this record, layered over heavy horns and bass, demands attention as Amir and his squad, “SET,” cut through scenes with dirt bikes, 4-wheelers and Jeeps.

His previous efforts – the critically acclaimed EP & short film, The SNEAK Tape and SNEAKS Is Watching respectively – the Virginia hip-hop upriser partnered with Sports Zone Elite to embark on a promotional tour through the DMV area promoting both projects. The SNEAK Tape and short film SNEAKS Is Watching were both featured on numerous sneaker blogs and music outlets, with digital and physical sales totaling upward of 7,000 units sold.

Following the release of The SNEAK Tape, Driver released his ode to Summer with, Til Next Summer. Gaining major notoriety for the projects with strong lyrical content and summer feel, Driver was booked to perform at New York’s legendary S.O.B’s (Sounds of Brazil) for their Generation Next Concert Series. He’s currently preparing for the spring release of his latest project, Over Everything with lead singles, Slick Rick and CTC gaining attention for their both hard-hitting sound and strong lyrical content.

Song of the Day: Aim – Adian Coker (ft. Bluey Robinson)

Adian Coker

ADIAN COKER takes Aim and shows what a true marksman he is on his brand new single taken from forthcoming E.P Connect.

A futuristic galaxy of electro synths orbit around an explosive drum beat making way for the entrance of a rock fuelled hook. The larger-than-life emcee takes a strong lyrical stance on the three-and-a-half banger, a quality that his fans will already be accustomed to – however there’s something notably different about this record. There’s a relaxed edge to the track, aided by the smooth R&B/soulful hook from Bluey Robinson, making it the perfect introduction to his EP.

In recent years, the South Londoner has earned an array of support from some of the most impressive music platforms. Each of them delve into his musical output giving the big thumps up to his ingenuity, depth and ambition yet there’s always been an air of mystery surrounding him and his music.

Connect is a very deliberate release, offering a side to ADIAN COKER that hasn’t been revealed before. The release gives an understanding and a much more upbeat and playful element to his music without any compromise on quality.

So here’s your chance to take aim to check out the single.

New Music Video: Holding On – S.P.O.T

spot

Known for tracks, Back 2 U and Flight School , taken from the EP The Extended Player (available on iTunes) , S.P.O.T (Strategy Produces Overall Thought)  returns with two new singles for the summer, Holding On and All I Know.

The New York lyricist recently took a trip to The Netherlands, Holland where he began the recording process for his next project…and also took advantage of shooting visuals for his latest bangers.

Shot in black and white, Holding On is a story of hope that all audiences can relate to. Over the past few months, the conscious emcee and his independent record label Down 2 Earth Records (D2E) are planning to release a new video every month as D2E approaches its one year anniversary later this year.
