New Track: Coldest Season – View

View coldest season

Finland’s hottest hip-hop export VIEW makes an icy return with his new single, Coldest Season, released last Friday via VILD Recordings.

With its icy-entrancing beats and introspective wordplay, Coldest Season is a darker offering compared to the previous single, Lace feat electro duo LCMD, which was supported by The 405 and The Line Of Best Fit. The single is taken from View’s upcoming debut album which will be released later in the year.

Following the success of his debut EP Avalon, Helsinki based View – real name Juuso Ruohonen – has already made a name for himself in his homeland with his own brand of darkly hypnotic beats and introspective lyrics. Favouring minimalism and low-toned sounds, the 23-year-old focuses on personal issues such as depression and identity, giving his music a rare and poignant honesty.

The Coldest Season is now available via iTunes…but for now, check out the black and white visual to the single.

Song of the Day: Be Alright – Tops Mafioso

tops the rapper

Coming on the back of support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, GRM Daily and Link Up TV for his previous releases, Neva Switch Sides and RckPprSxxrs/Love, TOPS MAFIOSO returns with his first single of 2016 titled Be Alright.

Produced by Gravez, Be Alright  gives an insight to the South London rapper’s life in the inner city and his journey for artistic freedom. The soulful and vibrant production is topped off by the 21-year-old’s lyrical dexterity.

With a collaborative EP with producer Code-E, a solo debut project, and visuals in the pipeline, this upriser won’t be off on holiday anytime soon as he determined to make 2016 his year.
