Upcoming Release: Fireman – Jake Aldridge (ft. Lisa Ambrose)

Having gone to number one on Zone Radio’s Top 40 Charts, getting his track played on Playboy TV daily and receiving airplay on Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape, JAKE ALDRIDGE returns with ‘Fireman’. Fusing R&B, pop and hip-hop, Aldridge tells the captivating story of losing the person you love, a theme he is all too familiar with after losing his own father at the age of 11.

‘Fireman’ features singer-songwriter Lisa Ambrose, who recently won Battle Of The Bandstands, hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Rob The Bank. This led to Ambrose supporting Mark Ronson and now collaborating with Norwich-based hip-hopper.

Inspired by the likes of Tupac Shakur and Dr Dre, Jake believes his music is entirely honest and offers his fans an insight to his life and emotions. The song has been produced by Ninety II, an up and coming producer from Bristol.

‘Fireman’ is set for release via iTunes, Spotify, Deezer and many more on 7th April 2017.

New Track: I Can’t Wait – Blaise Pascal

London-based future-soul artist BLAISE PASCAL unveiled single ‘I Can’t Wait’ last Friday, taken from his debut EP, set for release later in the year. The track samples the melodic hook from Billy Cobham’s ‘Heather’, famously used in hip-hop classic 93 ’til Infinity’ by Souls of Mischief.

Speaking of his latest release, Blaise says: “It’s about a long distance relationship I was in and the feelings of excitement I had knowing I would see her after much time apart. We are no longer together but still very close and she’ll always be a special person in my life”

Born in Pembury and raised in London, Blaise’s career began with a scholarship to Sylvia Young. He began to focus on singing and dancing and his talent was recognised and rewarded by yet another full scholarship to the esteemed Rambert School of Contemporary Dance & Ballet. This led to a career as a professional dancer, taking him around the world and giving him the opportunity of working with some of the UK’s best known establishments including The Royal Opera House and The English National Opera.

At the age of 17, his uncle Martin Rex (engineer & producer of artists such as Alison Moyet, Neneh Cherry and The Shamen), saw potential and gave him a guitar, igniting a passion for playing and writing that would soon surpass all else.

The result of this was Blaise’s debut album ‘Wild Life’ released through his own label SJH Music. He then spent the next few years gigging around the country and building a reputation working as an accomplished musician and has recently taken time out from this to begin writing his second album. As well as following his pursuits to be an accomplished songwriter and musician, Blaise has a strong sense and belief in the spirit of community and in particular amongst fellow musicians. With that in mind he founded the company Acoustic Roots, a ‘featured artist/open mic’ nights offering a platform for up and coming artists.

‘I Can’t Wait’ is now available for purchase via iTunes. For now, have a sample of the single.

king-blitz-thats-real

It’s been a loooong time since this guy appeared on NEW LEASE MUSIC but KING BLITZ returns with a very exciting new collaboration with Penacho Beats entitled ‘That’s Real’.

Blitz comes through with an incredibly emotional verse over some acoustic-soul production, while Penacho do what does do best — pull out the bass.

The comeback track is taken from the Indiana rapper’s forthcoming mixtape, schedule for release in March via iTunes and Apple Music.

With a sound and style that’s all his own, armed with an extra helping of swagger and boundless enthusiasm, KING BLITZ became one of the most talked about up and coming hip-hop artists when he was barely twenty years old. He subsequently appeared on tracks with his peers, such as YMCMB and KE ON THE TRACK.

SONZ OF THUNDER UK has dropped their latest single, ‘Frontline Testimony’, taken from their EP ‘New Levels’.

The three-and-a-half-minute mood shaker which cranked up over 4,000 views on Facebook, boasts an infectiously uplifting reggae bass with the group’s prime aim to reach out to their audience through an equally uplifting and potently inspirational message.

Born and bred in north-west London, Brothers Shane (left) and Dean Brown started SONZ OF THUNDER UK in 2005… and their seamless fusion of genres, ranging from reggae to hip-hop and R&B, didn’t fail to disappoint. With their bombastic presence, the brothers have rocked the stages at a string of festivals, community events and talent shows.

2013 was a great year for the pair as they received great responses for track, ‘It’s All About Love’ after being aired several times on Channel AKA (formerly Channel U).

Their cover to Drake’s hit ‘Once Dance’ (entitled ‘God on the Mind‘) was well received by fans, clocking up way over 6,000 views and 100 shares and likes on Facebook alone.

Their biggest track to date, ‘More To Life’, dominated the airwaves of local community stations, creating major buzz around the pair in 2013 and 2014.

After taking a break for a year, the dynamic duo has made a comeback with  ‘New Levels’ EP in July 2016 via VP records sub-label VPAL. The eight-track collection includes anthem-ready, ‘God on the Mind’ and ‘More To Life’ and a tribute song to the late Nelson Mandela.

Her K-Pop/Soulful combo hasn’t fallen by the waste side: The 26-year-old performed three times at the huge Arena in Amsterdam for a crowd of 50,000 people at a time and also shared the stage with heavyweights including Emeli Sandé and Bob Marley’s legendary band The Wailers, whilst club touring across Netherlands.

In 2012, the upbeat pop songstress took her talent to new heights and auditioned for The Voice of Holland and instantly became the viewer’s favorite and was dubbed “The discovery” & “The one to watch”.

Now that’s all the credentials over with, it’s time to check out Rise. The single is taken from her EP, Ascension: Golden Seeds of Light, released in November on all major music outlets, including iTunes and Spotify.
