New Track: Aurora – Otis Mensah

Following his last appearance in July with single ‘Free The Slaves’ , OTIS MENSAH is here with a follow-up single entitled ‘Aurora’ – which paints the story of frustration with a system in modern-day society.

Unlike his previous release, which sports feather light boombap-esque soundscapes, ‘Aurora’ goes down the atmospheric hip-hop/rap route, where the Sheffield conscious emcee, delivered in a rapid light flow, shed light on his personal journey of self-doubt.

This guy has a lot to say…check out ‘Aurora.’

Song of the Day: Free The Slaves – Otis Mensah ( ft. Tonia Victoria)

During his debut show at Glastonbury, BBC Introducing stage last month, OTIS MENSAH dropped his track, ‘Free The Slaves’.

Sporting a sporadically dope elements of sugary-light hip-hop/R&B, the three-minute slammer talks about rebellion, and breaking out of a mundane, oppressed life.

If you haven’t heard of this conscious artist from Sheffield, covering everyday issues are the core subject of his expanding discography, often coupled with a rich soulful hip-hop/boom-bap -esque groove – a sound similar to heavyweights, Mos Def, Common and The Roots.

OTIS MENISH has previously released ‘Creep & Crawl’ which received appreciation from online hip-hop tastemakers…and the crowd at his Glastonbury show.

His upriser is worth a visit; start with ‘Free The Slaves’.

Song of the Day: Dem Gyal Deh – J.Kas (ft. Franz-Von)

J.KAS dropped a fiery Mantra-produced track entitled ‘Dem Gyal Deh’ bang in the middle of the hot season.

For this two-and-a-half minute deep house number, the Sheffield emcee enlists local spitter Franz-Von to add that extra kick.

Turn this one up to the max…check it out!

New Music Video: Smack ’em All – J. Kas (ft. Cryptic Wisdom)

Sheffield spitter J.KAS has been cooking up some new material which includes a brand new visual for track, ‘Smack ’em All’ from the EP ‘Hometown’.

The the four-minute production came to fruition when the BBC Introducing artist was in the process of moving home and had two burning bins in the backyard for unwanted items. A lightbulb moment came and J.KAS called a local upcoming videographer, Shakeel Robinson – and here it is!

The video is a filler in the run up to the official release of the ‘Snapchat EP’ (June 2017), which will be accompanied by videos to ‘All Night (Sugah, Sugah)’ and ‘Snapchat (Ain’t No Killing My Vibe’. Also there will be a another track dropping titled ‘Dem Gyal Deh’, which features Sheffield alumni Franz-Von of K.O.G. And The Zongo Brigade.
