These guys are the forerunners of alternative hip hop as they use crazy beats that you wouldn’t usually associate with hip hop – but it makes very intriguing listening. There are some seriously out-of-sight tracks on their latest album, but Core Audio made it to the star song hot spot, as it features an ultra soothing melody completed by some unreal freestyling – check it out.

With the help of his uncle, he jump start his journey as a hip hop artist, creating music with substance that will touch people’s soul through sharing his life experiences.

At the age of 22, Cory L. Houston – aka CORYLZ– already has a collection of mixtapes under his belt.
Exposed to different types of music from a very young age, this Tennessee rapper chose hip hop as ‘a main musical style of expression.’ But it wasn’t until he showcased his talent at a local party in 2005 that he was more than serious in becoming a hip-hop artist.
Without further adieu, he churned out eight mixtapes: Starlight (2005) Deep Boyz Anthem (2006); Liven Dead (2007); Era 21 (2008); Real World (2009); Heartless (2012); Cold Hearted (2012) and more recently Boy Meets World (2013)
Released last month, Boy Meets World feature some serious super raw/rough sex lyrics with smoother-than-chocolate/after hours beats – just have a listen to Melody Rapture and Mash Potatoes. I have to say that Boy meets World is not all about raw/rough sex lyrics, as the mixtape also shows a vulnerable side to the rapper. This upriser delivers his spoken word/baby-i’m- so-into-you raps in the angelic, super smooth Look of Love. Unread Letter shows his hurt he suffered from his lover over that super smooth drive. His on-pint spoken word raps returns in the heartfelt track Sheet Rock Soul which gives an insight of this young rapper’s rough upbringing and problems he had encountered in his short life.
CORYLZ hopes that his talent would one day gain interest beyond his hometown. After listening to the mixtape, I think that time is coming real soon for this hot hip hopper. Check out Boy Meets World here.
