Producer Jason Griff returns with rapper Alaska for Gerasco EP

Following up on the wildly popular 2021 LP, Human Zoo and 2023 EP Pop Songs for the Apocalypse, JASON GRIFF and ALASKA have teamed up again, with five-song EP, ‘Gerasco’, out now across various music platforms.

The album title, Gerasco is a Greek word, meaning “to age or get old.” Rather than run from it, Alaska and Griff embrace the progression of time with open arms, sharing wisdom and lessons learned over the years in the form of banging beats and slick rhymes.

The EP features guest appearances from Alex Ludovico and Seth Bohn, as well as additional vocal contributions from Akrobatik, Zilla Rocca, Jesse the Tree and Nicey Most.

Song of the Day: Break The Stereo – Muja & Dub Sonata ft. Tragedy Khadafi

MUJA & DUB SONATA enlist Tragedy Khadafi for a truth dart session with ‘Break The Stereo’. The aggressive track scores the MC’s raw diatribes with stern drums and ominous instrumentation, creating a chance for minds to be opened all over the globe.

Minneapolis-based Muja was named the city’s best hip-hop artist by City Pages in 2009, named in VIBE’s “51 Best Myspace Rappers” list, and picked as one of URB’s “Next 1000”. He can be heard on a number of Atmosphere LP’s, and has an EP titled Saran Rap, fully produced by Roc Marciano, which dropped on Man Bites Dog Records in 2017.

Dub Sonata has produced for Jidenna, Rhymefest, Sage Francis, Nature, Vordul Mega, Guilty Simpson, & more. His own releases have received accolades & critical praise from the likes of URB & Okayplayer, with the latter calling his Nights In Cuba LP “as relevant musically as it is politically”.
