New Music Video: I Woke Up – Fazer

Having recently laid his soul bare in a very honest interview with Not For The Radio, FAZER continues to lay his ghosts to rest as he ditches the pop and gets right back to his roots with new single, ‘I Woke Up’.

The record makes for a welcomed return of the producer/rapper that sees him provides a sincere account of his time in the music industry and reconnect with the music that so clearly inspires him, allowing him to be the artist that his experience and growth has led him to be. Detailing the lows he has faced within his lengthy career, the self-produced beat draws on elements of trap, tinged with soulful strings, hi-hats and adlibs.

In a current climate that sees superstars rise from the underground and attention on the here and now, FAZER’s previous achievements may come as a surprise to some. As a platinum-selling artist/rapper, songwriter and producer, FAZER has been in the public eye for over 10 years, releasing three certified platinum studio albums and selling over 3.2 million albums in the UK. His production skills are unquestionable as he has worked with some of the worlds biggest stars and has previously helped to arrange the highly acclaimed Urban Classic’s BBC Proms at the world-renowned, Royal Albert Hall.

With a refreshing, feel-good vibe on a reminiscent record that oozes growth, FAZER is set to ‘wake up’ the scene once again.

New Music Video: 2 Lovin U – Miguel x DJ Premier

Having dropped the audio online last month, which was instantly picked up by the online music tastemakers and shakers, including Rolling Stone, Hot New Hip-Hop, Pitchfork, XXL Mag, Consequence of Sound, Spin and even the Guardian making it their Track of the Week; Hip-Hop icon, DJ Premier, and R&B superstar Miguel, reveal the video for ‘2 Lovin U’.

With the video opening to the vision of Miguel, there is almost an instant sense of relief to know that both parties are bringing everything to the table for the visuals of this worthy record. With Preemo taking his certified position behind the decks, there’s a dreamlike glow to the video that throws back to some 80’s inspiration with the movement of scenes and flashes of gold and light throughout.

Ever the revolutionaries in their own fields, the pair have no hesitation in creating unpredictable music together that is destined to strike a chord. Having previously teased fans with the collaboration via a video snippet on Miguel’s instagram during his Wildheart album campaign, the release of the album, (which was later nominated for two Grammy Awards), left fans in suspense as the track mysteriously eluded the tracklisting.

With the mystery now resolved, we get to enjoy the fruits of their labour via the stirring new single, which comes edged with rocky guitar riffs and splashes of hip-hop undertones as DJ Premier scratches through the beat.

As Miguel has previously stated, he and Premier were always going to find a special way to release this track, now entitled ‘2 Lovin U’; and true to their words, they have. “The track having a different title gives it a new light” DJ Premier stated; a statement reflected perfectly in the video too.”

New Music Video: Survival Mode – Sites

Rising Canadian rapper SITES – who has previously collaborated with the likes of Royce Da 5’9 and Keith Murray – is back with another boom-bap flavoured single ‘Survival Mode’.

Accompanying the single are some energetic visuals that see the rapper playing with fire in an abandoned building. Its pyromaniac themes perfectly match the upriser’s hi-octane bars and fiery attitude.

‘Survival Mode’ follows previous singles ‘Headliner’ and ‘The Pain’, both showcasing the rapper’s knack for fierce flows and an ear for a mean beat.

The Vancouver, Canada  raised talent is now living in London where he has been gathering a growing following in hip hop. More exciting material including an album at the end of the year is in the pipeline…so keep an eye out here on NEW LEASE MUSIC.

But for now, check out the explosive visual to ‘Survival Mode.’
