If you’ve been keeping a close eye on fresh talent via GRM Daily and Link Up TV then KID TANA will certainly not passed you by. Beginning to see a trend in his music, Tana applies several musical influences into one coherent vision that draws on dancehall, trap and afrobeat and hears him flit from the guttural to the sing-along in smooth transition.

Following his debut release ‘Atmosphere’, championed by Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne & Tom Ravenscroft, South-London producer/musician JOE TURNER releases his brand-new double A-side via Jamz Supernova’s record label Future Bounce.
Leading the double A-side is ‘Retina’, a reflective, downtempo electronic track riding on an arresting undercurrent, densely layered with emotive instrumentation and introspective production.
Its counterpart ‘Stay’ is a bouncier, blissed-out track that radiates an emphatic energy through its warm melodies and lush intricate production.
Joe Turner
Born and raised in Croydon, Turner grew up in a house filled with Soul music and a smidgen of nineties electronica providing the youthful musician with a varied musical palette. His grandfather, a jazz pianist, was a major influence, from whom he’s undoubtedly inherited the musical talent that saw him writing his first song at just eleven years old.
Following his teenage years playing in various bands, it has only been in the past twelve months that Turner turned his attention to writing once again. Concentrating on his own material whilst similarly experimenting in production, collaborations ensued with South-London based artists such as Stella Talpo and SIAMAKI before he took the plunge and released his own compositions.
In February 2019, Turner self-released his first single ‘Atmosphere’ which gained the support of BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart, BBC 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscroft and BBC 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova, amongst many other radio stations & DJs. Also a hit on streaming services it was widely supported on editorial playlists.
With news of further recordings – a debut EP is imminent – and live dates in the pipeline, 2019 is looking to be a big year for the remarkable South-Londoner.
After dropping ‘Caesar’, which immediately made a statement with the message revolving around maintain the black culture, FRENZY teams up with UK rap heavyweights, Knucks and House Of Pharaohs’ very own Sam Wise, and pays homage to his old school roots with the blissfully dreamy, larger than life ‘Kisses’.
The latest track is the second release from his forthcoming project ‘Murder Mile’.
