Song of the Day: Snuggle Up – Quincy

Earlier this month, QUINCY released TWO tracks on his birthday.

The R&B singer/rapper drops his trademark of raging guitar plucks through ‘Snuggle Up’, making this almost four-and-a-half-minute production a straight up playfully smooth affair.

Check it out below…and be sure to tune in tomorrow to hear his second track…

Song of the Day: Gladiolus – Yvonne Hercules

Singer and self-taught musician YVONNE HERCULES drops her stunning cross-genre single entitled ‘Gladiolus’ into today’s hotspot.

Encompassing of old school blues with a little folk and alternative music, ‘Gladiolus’ explores the movement of Winter into Spring and how this metaphorically corresponds to a journey from a place of death into a place of life or hope. The thought-provoking lyrics are reinforced by Yvonne’s haunting and well-poised vocal.

‘Gladiolus’ is taken from her new EP of the same name and follows her single ‘Roving’, which  received support from Clash magazine, Line of Best Fit, Afropunk, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and others.

This is absolutely breathtaking…have a listen to ‘Gladiolus’

Song of the Day: Loose Ideas – Mike Rogers (ft. Jones, Tiggs Da Author & MYBADD )

Following on from the release of lead single ‘What Should I Do’ in April, producers Mike Mago and Rogerseventytwo – aka MIKE ROGERS – have revealed their second single ‘Loose Ideas’ featuring JONES, Tiggs da Author and MYBADD.

‘Loose Ideas’ is a soulful affair, enlisting the darling vocals of London-born artist Cherie Jones – more commonly known as JONES – the effortless flow of Tiggs da Author; not forgetting vocal, songwriting & production contributions from MYBADD.

With the release of the third single ‘Pretty Ones’ on the horizon, as well as the full release of the EP – stay tuned as MIKE ROGERS prove that they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Song of the Day: I Hate To See You This Way – Van Bellman

If you’re a fan of real gritty rock music with a kick of funk, well Zac Taylor – aka –  VAN BELLMAN‘s first single, ‘I Hate To See You This Way’ may well be your new favourite.

The theme of ‘I Hate To See You This Way’ focuses on the pain of watching someone you love go down a dark road, witnessing them self-destruct. “It means a lot to me as both a lyrical and sonic story,” said Taylor, who also produced the track at the legendary Mission Sound Studios in Brooklyn. With influences from Kurt Cobain to Jeff Buckley,  Taylor’s offering possesses the accusatory growl of the chorus which instantly pulls you into the sensitive moments in between the roars.

The Brooklyn-based musician, who once played the guitar with multi-platinum band American Authors, is shaping to be a respected collaborator and songwriter in the NYC music scene.
So sure to look out for VAN BELLMAN as he comes at you with boisterous tunes with hard-hitting lyrics one by one….

Song of the Day: Know Your Worth – 91′ Thompson

91′ THOMPSON‘s latest track well deserves a place on NEW LEASE MUSIC’s Song of Day hotspot for its ambient combo of hip-hop and R&B, which works perfectly in unison with Thompson’s slick flow – who tells all the ladies out there (in around about way) to know their worth.
