New Track: Ingredients – Coco (ft. Scrufizzer)

Kicking the weekend off with a massive bang, COCO drops his latest banger featuring Scrufizzer.

The track marks the occasion COCO and the Red Bull Music Academy held a launch party in his hometown, where he performed ‘Ingredients’ alongside Toddla T. To cap off an epic weekend, the sheffield spitter then opened the World Snooker Championship final with a re-work of ‘Big N Serious’, watched by over 4 million viewers!

Bringing an updated twist on grime’s blueprint, the track unleashes a taste of the classic grime sound, with COCO and Scrufizzer trading rapid-fire flows over a distorted bassline and full-bodied drums courtesy of Toddla T. Cooking up bars that explore realness in the scene, COCO represents Sheffield to the fullest and West Ealing MC Scrufizzer peppers ‘Ingredients’ with his trademark skippy flow – turning up the heat on the track’s second verse.

Song of the Day: Crank – Khaos Brown

Coventry seems to be blazing with upcoming rappers these days – and we’re not talking about the type that sold their soul to the mainstream: last week, NEW LEASE MUSIC featured upcomer ShadowCV6, who broke the taboo and went right in to address male mental health, through his latest single, ‘Not Alone.’

Now it’s KHAOS BROWN‘s turn to steal today’s limelight. The rapper/songwriter started out in secondary school as a release for the feelings and came to realise his friends and family related to his work, pushing him to go into overdrive. The result, is a pretty dope discography…and track ‘Crank’ is one of them.

Categorise as ‘realist rap’ by the hip-hop upriser, the three-track offering is accompanied by a crisp black and white visual which gives a glimpse into his reality…trust me on this one; it’s worth checking out.
