Album Review: I Find Myself Here – Antonia Redding

Antonia Redding

Singer/Songwriter ANTONIA REDDING described her sound as ‘worldwide pop’, displayed through her latest full-length album, I Find Myself Here.

Worldwide pop is essentially a soothing fusion of the acoustic guitar (giving off that real folklore feel) with drums producing beautiful hints of African-influenced rhythms – all completed by Redding’s rich and equally soothing vocals (think of a female version of Paul Simons.)

This is a perfect collection for those lazy Sunday afternoons. A full version of I Find Myself Here is available on iTunes.

Must Listens: Backdrop, Toorelyay, The Words We Choose, Only Name, No Beginning No End, Alone To Reunite

Upcoming Release: Hype – A.M. SNiPER (ft. Curren$y)

Hype AM Siper

A.M. SNiPER flashes back into the limelight with Hype, the first single from his forthcoming debut album.

The British-Cypriot rapper is renowned for teaming up with some of the biggest names in music across both the UK and US scenes from his base in Ayia Napa (the original hotspot and mainstay for UK Garage, Grime and Urban music in Europe), hosting and collaborating with a bonafide plethora of stars including Chris Brown, Tyga, Rick Ross, Wiley, JME, Julian Marley, Dj Jaguar Skills and Memphis Bleek.

For his latest banger,  A.M. joins forces with one of hiphop’s undisputed underground kings, New Orleans rapper Curren$y, long-term friend and collaborator of Wiz Khalifa. The track  boasts a late-night jam that oozes understated class.

A.M. SNiPER’s musical prowess stems as far back as the early 2000s, where as a budding teenager in the UK Garage pioneers’ So Solid Crew, he produced a third of their sophomore album. This finesse and adept appreciation of authenticity and culture is reflected on the new single. The track samples A Tribe Called Quest’s Butter with vocal cuts from the late Phife Dawg and pays tribute to similar icons – Bob Marley for instance – two artists concerned with the art and the vision rather than the hype.

Hype will be available on iTunes from 24th June…but for now, check out the visual to the single.

Haze Thinking out loud

HAZE drops his visual to his latest single, Thinking Out Loud, coming from his mammoth album of the same name, released last Monday. Alongside the album and video, the emcee also stars in and co-directed a short film with Sheridan De Myers

The 21-track album goes through different feelings and emotions and features other hugely respected UK Hip-Hop artists such as Akala & Black The Ripper on track Problems, J Spades and Whooli on Suttin About Me, Pakman on Follower Or Leader, and Irish soulful singer Maverick Sabre on Made In Love.

Haze has proved he can take his artistry to a different dimension, by joining together a film, album and music video. Based in London on a true story, the project represents the conflict of an artist torn between two worlds. The streets and his passion; aspiring to be a successful artist but having to do whatever it takes to support his dream & his family, which ultimately leads him to making the ultimatum decision.

Thinking Out Loud album is now available on iTunes…but for now, check out the video.
