Star Song: Here and There- Rushil

Today’s song is Here and There by indie rocker RUSHIL. The track is coming from his debut album, Oscillations, released in January.

Indian-born RUSHIL always had an unflappable passion for music, hailing THE FRAYS, JAMES MORRISON, BOB DYLAN and ERIC CLAPTON as his biggest influence. From the age of 14, he formed a band with his friends and at that point he had the burning desire to become a credible artist. Fate was on his side when a producer spotted his raw talent and under his guidance, RUSHIL started producing his own material which led to his standout debut album.

If you haven’t heard of RUSHIL, the easy-cruising Here and There is the perfect introduction, as you get to experience his smooth and slightly-husky-typically-rock vocals – absolutely stunning!

Review: The Orange Line – Wullae Wright

WULLAE WRIGHT should not be taken likely – I realised that the second I heard his soothing effort All The Time which was featured on NEW LEASE MUSIC last month. All The Time makes up one of his latest 13-track-album, The Orange Line.

Now I have the pleasure of reviewing the entire album – and I have to say it took me by surprise as I anticipated that classic mellow rock throughout the self-recorded production. In fact, The Orange Line features the wonderfully bitter/sweet creations, demonstrated in UFO, Roadtrippin’ and You Never Said Anything. These tracks are completed by this Scottish rocker’s cry-for-help vocals.

The album just displays that WULLAE WRIGHT is a worthwhile producer: Stand Alone (ft Stuart Carroll), Plasticland, Beware: Beckon Angels and A Story of a Wall features that delightfully-awkward blend of different instruments that sticks in the mind hours (or even longer) after listening. Each of these incomparable singles are very different from each other, and this artist’s vocals perfectly adapt to these productions.

Overall, The Orange Line pushes the boundaries of indie rock to the absolute limit, making it a very intriguing listening. If you want to experience a fresh spin on indie rock, The Orange Line to the best place to start – welcome to the world of WULLAE WRIGHT…

Star Song: Pioneers – TJ Chill and Redd Emcee

Check out the track Pioneers by British rappers TJ CHILL and REDD EMCEE.

These guys are not new to the hip hop game – starting out in the 1980s, they were part of the Britcore era in the early 1990s. With this track, the Londoners show that they are pioneers of UK hip hop as they effortlessly rap over a dope, easy-cruising beats. CHECK-IT-OUT.

TJ CHILL is part of the group, Kaos Krew and REDD EMCEE is from a crew called Centralzone. He also produced some sick tracks, including THE TITUS 1:1-4’s Wonderful.

Review: Romaine Dixon – Lost In It All

There are some singers that are way too good to be left by the waste side – and ROMAINE DIXON is one of them. I featured this R&B singer/songwriter/dancer recently here on NEW LEASE MUSIC with her knockout performance of the track Wanting More – which is one of her release from her debut EP Lost In It All, out today.

This six-track EP is bursting with R&B pop and dance numbers, topped off by the South Londoner’s well- crafted songwriting – and rich soulful vocals. Lost In It All features sultry tracks Only One and Private Dancer which shows that this all-round entertainer has all the right ingredients to make it AND Stay in the music business. The EP just keeps getting better, as ROMAINE DIXON effortlessly rocks to the high-energy club track Guilty, but the star track of the EP is Live Better. From a very young age, the 20 year old has been perfecting her singing, song writing and dancing and Live Better documents her journey and determination of becoming a creditable artist. An absolute must listen.

Over the past year, ROMAINE DIXON has performed at the Olympic Stadium as well as various gigs around London. Judging from this album, it won’t be long that she will perform beyond her hometown and become a firm fixture in the charts.

Star Song: Positive Change – Bobb Shaw

Today’s song is Positive Change by British indie rocker BOBB SHAW. The single is coming from the EP Stars Will Fall, released in June.

Stars Will Fall has made quite an impact, as the first single from the EP, Whiskey was aired on BBC Introducing Leeds – just a few hours of its release! Days later, he was approached by the producer of The Voice UK to attend an audition.

No doubt his fruitful journey is set to continue with Positive Change. This laid-back single, which is topped off by this guy’s soothing and slightly husky vocals, is perfect for relaxing on a hot summer’s day.
