Upcoming Release: Get Your Sexy On – Lovestarrs

Lovestarrs

Newly re-launched as LOVERSTARRS, Sarah McIntosh (vocals) and her brother Hamish (bass and synths), tease us with a taste of their debut album in the form of lead single Get Your Sexy On, due for release on 3rd June.

The slick electronic outfit, formerly known as The Good Natured whilst signed to Parlophone/EMI, return with their unique brand of unashamed electro-pop thanks to a little help from their fans via a successful Kickstarter campaign, which has funded forthcoming LP Planet Lovestarr  set to drop this August.

Now signed to new independent label DEFDISCO, who can already boast the likes of Public Enemy amongst their roster, the sibling are stepping up their game with Get Your Sexy On, an encouraging ode to lovers intertwined in a rapturous and motivating melody. B-side Drop Dead Gorgeous supports the track in an equally light-hearted manner, slowly revealing a straight woman’s interest in another girl.

No strangers to the unexpected, in a former incarnation the band had a string of European hits and were praised by the likes of The Guardian, NME, Clash and The 405, but received a crushing blow when their album was shelved prior to its already confirmed release with Parlophone/EMI. Now, with the backing of artist-empowering label DEFDISCO, Sarah and Hamish are back with a vengeance – and nothing will stop them this time.

JAMES ROBB has released Flamethrower earlier this month, the first single taken from his forthcoming EP.

Written by the man himself and produced by Malaysian artist Kuizz, the latest Justin Timberlake-esque offering, is all about being burned in a relationship…that horrible taste it leaves in the mouth.

With a voice and tone beyond his years, this one UK singer/songwriter that’s definitely on the rise. With original music rooted in his love for pop and R&B, he manages to captivate the authenticity of songwriting, driven by his rich soulful vocals. Raised in a musical family, this upriser was quick to realise the importance of learning his craft as a songwriter and artist. He started to join writing sessions at an early age and performed numerous gigs around his hometown, Hitchin.

EP Review: Isolate – Richie Ashwin

Richie Ashwin isolate

It’s been so looooong since RICHIE ASHWIN appeared on NEW LEASE MUSIC, that I began to wonder whether he disappeared of the face of the Earth! Anyways I’m very glad to have him back and his latest EP, Isolate.

Unlike his 2013 self-titled EP, which comprises ecochic fusions of RnB, dubstep and hip-hop, the British songster adopted a more simple, whiter-than-snow soundscapes, where the smooth atmospheric drive reverbs throughout each production, working in perfect harmony with the heavenly sweet-overtones. A must-have collection for chilling out – and getting busy between the sheets!

Start your weekend on a chilled vibe and check out the EP
