Jason Slusser -aka -JAYSIN  is a rapper that definitely needs to be heard. From a young age, he had love for hip-hop, listening to TUPAC and GETO BOYS RECORDS. By the age of nine, he wrote his first rap and by the age of 14, this underground hardcore upriser left school to pursue his music career, recording in his mother’s trailer and soon started performing at house parties and local venues. By the age of 18, he started releasing mixtapes, gaining a respectable fan base.

Gaining his huge fan base wasn’t down to rapping about the sweetest bootie in the club. Instead his lyrics reflect the harsh experience he encountered in his short life –which includes poverty, depression, uncertainly, suicide, feeling lost and drug taking – and this is all included in his latest mixtape, Clear Eye’d, released this month.

Beyond the harsh, hard-hitting lyrics of his life, there is an undercurrent that his Chicago-born struggling artist yearns to be a better person – and Demons All Around Me, Lost and 6figures speaks of his struggle to stay on the right track. His angrier-than-ever raps in is evident in tracks FTW and Gas, as it documents his frustration with the corruption of the government and his personal encounter and experience with the police.

JAYSIN is not afraid to represent the black sleeps of societies across the globe through this 12-track mixtape. Beyond the dope beats, he’s not afraid to invite you into his harsh reality. After listening to Clear Eye’d, I can’t help but have the fullest respect for this guy. The mixtape definitely deserves your attention. Check it out here.

Star Song: Signature Thoughts – Lucchi

Lucchi

Today’s song is Signature Thoughts by US rapper LUCCHI. The track is coming from his mixtape Feel Me Rappers, Feel Me Beats 2 (FMR FMB2) released last month.

This Radical Affairs Entertainment recruit was one of the first artists to be featured on NEW LEASE MUSIC, announcing the release of FMR FMB2.

Now the 13-track mixtape is finally here and Signature Thoughts was chosen as the song of the day, as it is a seriously atmospheric, easy-cruising track WITH some seriously hard-hitting lyrics of reality. He deserves the recognition – without a doubt- so check this guy out.

If you’re feeling Signature Thoughts, head over to his Bandcamp page and listen to the mixtape. To find out more about LUCCHI, you can head right here.

Star Song: Faith Don’t Leave My Soul – King Holloway

King Holloway

Today’s song is Faith Don’t Leave My Soul  (prod.  Jerrod Hinton) by KING HOLLOWAY. The track is coming from his fourth mixtape, Mind Travel , released in August.

It was so hard finding a star song from this mixtape, as every single track has some seriously (and I mean seriously) slamming beats with thought-provoking/let-the-truth-be-told lyrics.

In the end, Faith Don’t Leave My Soul made it to the star song hot spot, as it features some sick cuts from  ex-Temptations David Ruffin’s  smooth classic, Mary Jane.  KING HOLLOWAY’s raps just oozes into the track – OUT-OF-SIGHT!

If you’re feeling this track, you won’t be disappointed by the mixtape – CHECK-IT-OUT NOW! Head over to his SoundCloud page, where you can listen and download Mind Travel for FREE!

If you’re a big fan of THE MUSICAL PAPA, the chances are that you know of his highly-anticipated mixtape TC-UNO. If you don’t know this rapper, expect 14 very different tracks from the mixtape.

TC-UNO starts off real smooth, with the light and angelic Love on the Corner, Clap and Wonderful Freestyle (sampled from JA RULE/R-KELLY/ASHANTI big hit Wonderful) The mixtape switches to a slightly dark tempo with Lit and That Work. MUSICAL PAPA’s ride-to-the-beats freestyling is most appreciated in the seriously head-rolling tracks Amazed, Ligghhh and Do You. The mixtape reaches the ultimate climax with the uber-cool/hour afters GIF.

Overall TC-UNO caters for ALL serious hiphop heads. If you’re not into the dark productions, you’ll sure love his super smooth tracks (just have a listen to GIF – wicked!). Check out TC-UNO right here.
