Expressing the issue of rising youth issues of today, the founder of A-POP ®, Jim Joyner says: “Over my life, I have seen many issues that are affecting our youth. I knew a girl who was my friend in 8th-grade art class who was self-harming. Today, we are losing one teen every 10 hrs to fentanyl-laced pills. I asked myself :“What could be done about it?” I am the owner and president of Allstar Video Pitching Simulators, so in 2017, I began to pour my heart and financial resources into a brand new genre of music which I named A-POP ®.”

‘Gone Too Soon’ was released last Friday (2nd December). Have a listen below…

Song of the Day: Walk With Me – Black Shawd

Multi-talented rapper/singer & songwriter BLACK SHAWD‘s single, ‘Walk With Me’ is a reflection of his cheerful and optimistic attitude towards life.

The lyrics along with the vocals is enough to give a tingle of goose bumps. The contrasts in mood are very well handled. This exciting hip hop song stimulates the generation to sit and think about life and then to take a stand and to contribute in meaningful deeds.

Black Shawd, in this energetic single, beautifully conveys the true significance of practical life, far from the world of fantasy. The appealing sound is really a blessing to the ears. This piece is an excellent composition with a catchy track. For Black Shawd, life has a purpose and in ‘Walk With Me’, he is giving direction to the world to take little steps with him towards morality.

The lyrics are really therapeutic as “Trust it won’t be long, it’s not that far” gives the vibes of comfort. The choice of words is so natural and friendly as “see we are not that far”. The cherry on the top is that the song also has fear reducing elements as “What are you afraid of” and “See we are not that far”. In simple words, ‘Walk With Me’ paints a portrait of life that becomes easy by following some simple rules.

Song of the Day: Inevitability-FYM – Troyman

Hip hop artist TROYMAN brings some serious heat on today’s top spot with single ‘Inevitability-FYM,’ produced by Tay Keith.

Born Troy Curry in San Francisco, California, Troyman was raised across the bay in Oakland, where he was introduced to the hip hop sounds of Tupac and other Bay Area heavy hitters. Relocating to the metro Atlanta area, his love of hip hop and witty rhyming skills landed him the opportunity of a lifetime to work with one of today’s most talented and sought-after hip-hop producers in the game, Tay Keith. In an industry where promises are often broken Tay Keith remained true to his word, witnessed by the world during the final episode of Netflix’s “Rhythm + Flow” in which he promised to produce a “tape” on Troyman.

While collaborating on the highly anticipated ‘Tay Keith’ project, Troyman released the critically acclaimed ‘Godspeed’ album which garnered two music placements with OTE (Overtime Elite) and most notably a placement on HBO Max’s series “Euphoria” Season 2 Soundtrack. Troyman also released a second project during this time period specifically for the ladies entitled, ‘Chocolates and Diamonds,’ which are both currently available for streaming on all platforms.

Album Review: I, The Collector – 5tash

When it comes to dropping albums, rapper 5TASH doesn’t do half measures and delivers 15 fresh tracks through his latest full-length album, ‘I, The Collector’.

Unlike to his previous set, ‘I, 5tash Banks’, which has a braggadocious presence throughout, ‘I, The Collector’ is a little more laid back in comparison, starting off with a smooth 80s soulful funk bounce with tracks like ‘Real P’ + and ‘Get Up’. This album sees the rapper experiments with laid-back trap sounds through tracks such as ‘Waisted’, ‘Steve Banks (I, The Collector)’ and ‘Movie’, where he works in his askew, gravelly flow which set him apart from his rap contemporaries.

Not what I expected from 5tash, but nevertheless it’s great to see a different side to this great rap contender. Check out ‘I, The Collector’ below…

Must listen: Real P +; Get Up!; Wvlk, P’ing! (Big Puddle); 6+6
