Check Odario Injects Sonic Energy In Single, ‘Do Nada (Chaix Remix)’

ODARIO (on the right) wanted to inject new sonic energy into ‘Do Nada’, a single about doing nothing, made in collaboration with Edmonton jazz band Good Information. ‘Do Nada (Chaix Remix)’ is an apathetic dance track Odario made with Chaix, a multi-genre artist and beat maker from Toronto. Chaix’s sound sits comfortably between hip-hop, house, and experimental electronic. Chaix didn’t want his reimagination to feel laidback and chill… but alive & infectious.

The video for ‘Do Nada (Chaix Remix)’ goes on a three-minute journey, exploring the day in the life of a wanderer attempting to do nothing for the day. It’s a reminder that a day of doing nothing can easily lead to a whole lot of random something. Loosely inspired by the Coen brothers’ 1998 film The Big Lebowski, Odario’s character manages to get out of bed, but not out of that bathrobe. Check out the video below…

K-Riz Shares Single, ‘Inside Your Love’ + Video

Calgary-based hip-hop artist K-RIZ celebrates his signing to Birthday Cake Records by unveiling a new single, ‘Inside Your Love,’ with an accompanying video directed by DaKidT, also known for his video work with fellow Alberta rapper Mouraine. The tune will appear on his forthcoming album, One Way Ticket, slated for release on September 15, 2023.

Having found his stride at the intersection of hip-hop and R&B, K-Riz packs his syllables and vocals with power. On ‘Inside Your Love,’ the dynamo welcomes listeners into his smooth and sensual world. Calling on producer Eddie Pe$o$ to set the vibe, it’s a track fitting for the boudoir, echoing the sultriest of ‘90s-era R&B slow jams by turning a snapshot of fantasy and desire into an understated gem.

“It’s that moment of yearning when you’re high off your lover’s energy, and you’re not shying away from telling them how you feel,” says K-Riz. “The intention was to make a slow and sexy jam with a heavy emphasis on sexy – and I think we got what we were after. I hope this song makes you hold your person a little closer.”

A rare, multifaceted artist who can rap and sing with equal aplomb, on his forthcoming third full-length album, One Way Ticket, K-Riz enters his self-described “Off the Wall era.” Much like Michael Jackson’s masterpiece of liberation, One Way Ticket pulls from an assortment of influences (hip-hop, funk, R&B, and dance) and showcases K-Riz at his apex, glowing with confidence, embracing new experiences, and living in the moment.

Two versions of ‘Inside Your Love,’ including a remix of the track featuring Tea Fannie and Kavali, are out now and can be streamed or purchased today right here…but before you go, why not check out the video for the sensuous single below…

The Hoodies Remake Classic Rock Hit ‘Summer of 69’ With New Single And Video

Canadian singer Bryan Adams released his hit single ‘Summer of ’69’ on 17th June 1985. On the heels of the Rock anthem’s 38th anniversary, the viral rap sensations known as THE HOODIES share their take on the original song’s concept. Released to all major digital streaming platforms on this year’s summer solstice (21st June), the new single finds brothers E-Class and Young Poppa claiming dominance ahead of the season with braggadocious raps over producer A2’s chopped sample of the original melody and famous guitar riff.

Hailing from New York, The Hoodies are brothers Eben “E-Class” Nettles and Umar “Young Poppa” Abrams. The duo’s name serves as a tribute to the unjust government-sanctioned killings of young Black men, reclaiming the often demonized symbol of a Black man in a hoodie. Together, older brother E-Class (25) and younger brother Young Poppa (17) embody the fusion of two disparate generations and, consequently, imbue Hip-Hop’s throwback era as well as its promising future.

Best known for their viral social media freestyle series ‘In The Whip’, the two young emcees have been honing their craft since the ages of nine and four respectively. With impressive wordplay matched by sharp flows and an unrivalled ferocity in their delivery, The Hoodies first became internet sensations in 2016 when a video recording of the two trading bars over Jadakiss and Styles P’s “One More Step” in the front seats of their mother’s car racked up over three million views on Facebook within a month. The clip eventually caught the attention of famous fans like D.L. Hughley, and even landed the two brothers on The Ellen Show.

Since then The Hoodies have gone on to release a full-length album (Blood Thicker) in 2019 and an EP (Where Should We Land) in 2020. They’ve also gone on to deliver electrifying performances for just about every online freestyle platform, including Hot97’s Funk Flex, Sway’s OVERTIME, Bars On I-95, and many more. Rap legends such as Black Thought, Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Redman, Jadakiss, and Styles P have all vehemently co-signed the duo. With rightful comparisons to The Notorious B.I.G, Young Poppa’s talents extend beyond Rap and onto the small screen with supporting acting roles in shows like NBC’s The Last OG and Law & Order, Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and more.
