Black Federation’s artist CLOGZ comes through with soft hybrids of Afrobeats, Folk, Caribbean and Amapiano with latest single, ‘Water’, featuring fast-rising fellow label artist H.O.M.A who adds his magic touch to the experimental piece.

Depicting the pain of unrequited love, ‘Water’, serves as the lead single from Clogz’ upcoming project ‘Love Notions’. Have a listen to the single below, released yesterday (17th August).

Song of the Day: Sinner – Adekunle Gold (ft. Lucky Daye)

A follow-up to the addictive his previous single ‘It Is What it Is,’ Nigerian Afropop sensation ADEKUNLE GOLD‘s latest offering, ‘Sinner,’ which features US R&B singer Lucky Daye, is inspired by the tragic story of King David and Bathsheba. The Marcel Akunwata-produced single is taken from Adekunle Gold’s upcoming album which is due out early autumn (via Platoon).

One of the most recognizable and exciting pioneers of the Afropop genre- currently dominating airwaves across the globe – mixing Afrobeat and Pop music and, Gold is one of the most elegant artists to come out of Africa.

Song of the Day: Mine – Kute Lee (ft. Tonee C)

Mine is the lead single from KUTEE LEE‘s EP ‘0 4 6’ which features rap prodigy Tonee C. The alternative rap song sees both artists discuss the affinity of a love interest for money and how that isn’t a problem for them on a quest to win her over. It’s one of those songs where the first and proceeding lines of the chorus could live rent-free in a listener’s head, with lyrics like “You got a fetish for dollar signs”.

A native of Anambra State but Based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria; Kutee Lee – whose real name is Chibuike Paschal Metu – began making music professionally in 2019 after he made a crucial decision of making a switch from his medical profession to building a career in music – a decision that wasn’t met with good reception from his family, but his affiliation with the renown creative collective Black Federation has been his center of support on a musical journey that has had it’s fair share of ups and downs.

He’s an artist with a voice that can fill a packed arena, firm, bold and unruly. His style of music could be described as Alternative because he plays across diverse genres with his music, and at each point tend to pass his message which mostly touches across subject matters like family, love, betrayal, life experiences especially back in the hood, amongst other things.

Spinall Drops Video For ‘Jabole’ Featuring Oxlade & Ycee

Following the release of his highly-anticipated fifth studio album GRACE (via TheCAPMusic) and a run of dynamic singles including ‘Everytime’ featuring Kranium, his collaboration with Afrobeats heavyweights Tiwa Savage and Wizkid on ‘Dis Love’ and the remix for his hit single ‘Sere’ ft Fireboy DML with additional vocals from the triple-Grammy Award nominated US alt-R&B singer, rapper and songwriter 6lack, the award winning DJ, producer and songwriter SPINALL has returned with the video for his latest single ‘Jabole’ ft Oxlade and Ycee.

“Ma Je Ko Jabole” is a street slang in Yoruba that is meant to encourage women to keep their swag on at all times. Directed by Dalia Dias, the video sees Spinall, Oxlade and Ycee accompanied by an array of beautiful and powerful women exuding their own unique style and confidence.

Spinall shares: “I was working on this sound when Oxlade walked into the studio and he fell in love with it and laid the hook. I rang the coolest guy ever – Ycee who went on to lace the record with his slick bars.”

Currently riding the massive waves he has been creating with GRACE, released in December, amassing over 100 million streams across all platforms and earning widespread acclaim from a slew of outlets with Clash describing it as a ‘symbolic record in more ways than one’, he continues to push the scene forward to the world with innovative concepts and collaborative efforts and with even more new visuals and music to come throughout the year, Spinall is set to continue his journey as one of music’s brightest stars in 2021 and for many more years to come.
