OUT TODAY: Benny Bizzie is ‘Not Sorry’ for falling in Love in New Single

Singer, songwriter and producer BENNY BIZZIE brings on those hazy summer days in single, ‘Not Sorry’, with hypnotic synths, mesmerising guitar licks, and memorable hooks, topped off by the warmth of the North London-born R&B crooner’s soulful falsetto. ‘Not Sorry’ is hitting all streaming platforms on 1st  August.

With a soft bass line, inspired by UK garage classics, such as Shanks & Bigfoot’s hit, ‘Sweet Like Chocolate’ and Sweet Female Attitude’s  ‘Flowers’, ‘Not Sorry’ should have been a Valentine’s track as it is all about giving out love excessively, without any consequences. Bizzie sings: ‘If loving you is a crime, then I’m guilty for my crimes charge me so I can do the time, If I say I’m sorry, that’s a lie’

‘Not Sorry’ follows Benny Bizzie’s first single of 2024, ‘Dejavu’, which pays homage and love for families and children in Gaza affected by current conflicts. Bizzie calls on his younger self, as a rap/grime artist, to deliver gritty rap lyrics packed with emotion while keeping it warm with soulful R&B melodies.

Benny also makes zero apologies for the love he is pouring out to his ever-expanding fan base as he plans to unleash a string of releases throughout 2024, which includes his upcoming album, ‘Project Human’.

Growing up in the estates of Tottenham, in north London, Benny wanted to find his place in society, where he can be his true self. He found solace in music, which led to his journey as a grime/rap artist, often swapping and dropping verses with childhood friends. His childhood friends would later become firm figures in UK’s grime scene which includes  Ghetts, BoyBetterknow and Ruff Sqwad.

In his adult years, Benny transitioned into R&B artist, perfecting spine-tingling falsetto over the years, often touching on current topics that are close to his heart (as featured in single ‘DejaVu’), self-development/self-discovery – and, of course, love in all forms. To date, Benny has generated over 650,000 views on YouTube and over 250K streams on Spotify alone and has generated firm support from the likes of BBC1xtra and BBC London.

Bizzie continues building momentum with cross-platform visibility through recent appearance in National Lottery advert and various podcast appearances. His collaborative single with Audio Attack, ‘Crazy For Your Love‘, was featured on Australia’s TV hit shows, Home and Away and Bachelors.

Forming part of his upcoming album, ‘Project Human’, ‘Not Sorry’ is available from 1st August on various music platforms.

OUT TODAY: Ashley Barron flips the script in single, ‘Cryin’ In A Bar’.

She has shared the stage with some of country music’s best, including opening for the legendary T. Graham Brown, Dylan Scott, Maddie & Tae, Tyler Farr, and Craig Campbell. As a rising artist ASHLEY BARRON takes a bold step away from traditional heartbreak and redefines the narratives in her new single, ‘Cryin’ In A Bar.’ Steering clear of the typical love story plot, this song flips the script on challenging the notion that a broken heart comes from surprising strength rather than ‘Crying In A Bar.’ The song, co-written by Ashley and acclaimed songwriter Pete Sallis, is a testament to their combined storytelling prowess. Pete, known for his work with artists like Ronnie Dunn, Maddie & Tae, Bucky Covington, and the multi-platinum hit ‘Shut Up and Fish,” brings his signature touch to ‘Cryin’ In A Bar.’

I should be crying in a bar
In the corner in the dark
Drowning in the bourbon wishing I was hurting
More than I am
But when I hear those
jukebox sad songs play
They don’t sting as bad as yesterday
They were wrong whoever said you can’t mend a broken heart
I should be crying in a bar

Ashley says, “When we wrote this song, I was very much overwriting your typical love story. ‘Cryin’ In A Bar’ is a twist. When you feel like your heart should be broken, but in reality, you’re okay!”

‘Cryin’ In A Bar’ is the second single to follow the first titled ‘Betrayed,’ which was released earlier this year with placements in Cowgirl Magazine, The Women of Country, and featured as a cover story three-page spread on Poze Magazine. It served as the opening move, setting the stage for a journey of overcoming personal challenges where every song is a strategic move and the ultimate victory is found within herself.

Ashley adds, “The production on this song is hands down one of my favorites. I remember being in the studio trying to feel the rhythm, so I started doing the waltz in front of my vocal mic.”

Whether playing in an intimate venue or on a large festival stage, Ashley commands the attention of the audience, leaving a lasting mark. Her concerts are a dynamic blend of country and rock, infused with a sense of authenticity and grit drawn from her personal experiences.

As a touring artist, Ashley recently headlined her show at the National Scleroderma Walk in Napa County, CA, a foundation close to her heart as she was selected to be their celebrity ambassador. She is also set to perform at the Platteville Fire Department Celebration on June 22, 2024, in Platteville, WI; the Winneshiek County Fair in Decorah, IA, with Joe Nichols on July 12, 2024; and the Dallas County, Iowa, with Craig Morgan on July 13, 2024.

OUT TODAY: Katrin-Merili puts her blend of Nordic Nu-Soul on the map with ‘Hold My Body’.

Paris-based, Estonian soul artist KATRIN-MERILI announces her debut EP ‘Beautiful Things’ with her new single ‘Hold My Body’, which is out today (20th June). She captures the soulful energy of Yebba, Sade and Cleo Sol, weaving her vocal around a future-facing instrumental to create a distinctive brand of Nordic neo-soul.

‘Hold My Body’ reflects on a long distance relationship, and the power of love to surpass geographical boundaries. Katrin explores the sacrifices that are made when in love, and the hunger for connection and patience needed to see things through. Alt-RnB lyrical flows are balanced with bopping grooves, euphoric synths and a gospel-inflected harmonic flavour, capturing the butterflies in the stomach and thrill of falling in love. Katrin shares: “I started composing this song on a friend’s guitar that was left in my apartment. The chords stuck with me, and gave it so much warmth when I produced the first draft. It took on a life of its own when I played it with my live band, and became the song you can hear today.”

Slated for release in 30th August, ‘Beautiful Things’ is a project consisting of five intimate stories centred around femininity, identity, and mental health, touching upon Katrin’s experience of being split between two countries, and supporting her mother through her battle with breast cancer. Due to the deeply personal subject material, Katrin wanted to be as involved as possible across the project, creating her own visual world to accompany the music, she shares: “I decided to self-produce the EP independently to be able to follow through with my original vision and to make something really personal. I am fully present in all the aspects of the creation, from writing the lyrics to styling, MUA, self-portraits, artworks and collages. Every song is a personal piece of my life and an invite to join me on my journey of self-discovery.”

A rising name in the Parisian soul-jazz crossover scene, Katrin has spent the last eight years in the French capital collaborating and building a name for herself, supporting the likes of Roy Ayres at the revered New Morning jazz club. Her path in Paris led to her meeting co-producer Sacha Arnaud, who was able to help Katrin bring her musical vision to life alongside the vibrant presence of talented French musicians including Noé Berne (Nine Sparks Riot) and Remi Klein (Voyou).

Taken from the ‘Beautiful Things’ EP, set for release on Friday 30th August, ‘Hold My Body’ was
