Song of the Day: Elizabeth – Jerhiame

JERHIAME‘s latest single ‘Elizabeth’ earned a well deserved place on today’s hotspot for its atmospheric fusion of electro and R&B with the young newcomer delivering a pretty woeful tale of ‘the one’ who broke his heart…and hoping that karma will catch up with her.

Coming from a musical inclined family, listening to the likes of B.B. King, Michael Jackson and Prince from a very young age, the singer/songwriter from Louisiana released his debut single, ‘Sad Song’ in 2016, which quickly cranked up his fanbase and thousands of streams on Spotify. Released back in February, ‘Elizabeth’ carries on the hype, receiving great reception from several college campuses and earning spots of Spotify playlists.

JERHIAME is currently working on his EP…be sure to look out for that…but for now, witness a star-on-a-rise and check out ‘Elizabeth’.

Song of the Day: Gimme The Mic – Coco

One of Sheffield’s hottest property COCO is back, putting a splash of colour in your Monday with latest grime number ‘Gimme The Mic’.

Song of the Day: Girl (Remix) – The Internet (ft. KAYTRANADA & Rayne Storm)

Rayne Storm remasters and re-releases the songs, remixes and freestyles that made him a buzzing indie prospect in the mid 2000’s and beyond. For each day in April, a new mastered upload will be featured on Rayne’s official Youtube and Audiomack channels in addition to new releases like the remix of The Internet’s hit “Girl” featuring Kaytranada.

With several projects on the table this year and the rise of his Monopolyhouse label and brand, this reintroduction is a great way for Rayne to reignite his current fanbase while expanding on his new sound for the next generation.

Song of the Day: Don’t Get Me Wrong (Cover) – Sophia Marshall

SOPHIA MARSHALL’s busy year continues with her latest release, ‘Smells Like Rubber’, a two-track homage to Chrissie Hynde, The Pretenders, living and working in a man’s world, and making no apologies for any of it.

‘Smells Like Rubber’ – who knows where that came from – but whatever the titular inspiration, it’s the songs that matter, and ‘Smells Like Rubber’, contains two classics from The Pretenders’ canon: ‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’ and ‘I Go To Sleep’ (the latter written by Ray Davies, but never recorded by The Kinks), both originally released in the ‘80s, and both utterly timeless.

‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’ make it to today’s Song of the Day spot for its spine tinglingly feather-light and rootsy treatment on a classic that became a top ten hit in the US and UK back in 1986.

Any The Pretenders fans will find this version a delight…go ahead and have a listen…and if you like what you hear, be sure to check out Sophia’s  Kasabian inspired ‘lin-dah’ EP, released last month –  click here.
