New Track: On The Way – Icey Stanley

Coventry-based artist ICEY STANLEY has dropped his brand new single ‘On The Way’, taken from his latest EP ‘Still No Love In February’, a follow-up to his last year’s project, ‘No Love In February’.

Boasting a mix of upbeat and smooth jamming joints, the latest EP includes collaborations with producers Carty S, Diamond Jay, Gifted Society  MAC (Music Always Cures) and Kevin Gani, including one feature from KK The Sensei. The lyrics are relatable for those that have been in position including Icey and a reminder of those feelings that can be expressed through this song.

‘On The Way’ follows his summer 2018 release, ‘Something I’m Needing’ Feat. Tocky Vibes, ‘Mid Summer Drip – EP’ with Birmingham’s own Mr Macee & Lets Go EP. The project features production from various producers.

Song of the Day: Credit – Dutch ReBelle

Following the success of her first video “Tonight”, DUTCH REBELLE is back with her second video for ‘Credit’, her latest album offering “Bang Bang”. The video, which was shot by Quality Images and edited by Rhendrixmusic for Amora Studios, finds Dutch in an art gallery surrounded by her own art and friends celebrating one’s own greatness and self-worth.

‘Credit’ brings out the best in Dutch, giving her the canvas to spit sizzling bars over a spooky instrumental provided courtesy of Boston’s own HumBeats, who’s booming 808’s and fresh sample flip keep the track moving as Dutch floats in and out dropping gems on fans and haters alike.

‘Bang Bang’ was released last October with additional production from Cartier C, Milty Maose, DJ Smalls, Althasi, Duggy Flex, Newm Nera, Tedd Boyd and Latrell James (who also lends guest verse) and Congolese MC S. Black Winner. The album shows all of Dutch’s influence and growth since her first release ‘Married to the Music’ in 2012 and gives us glimpses of what we can expect in the future….check her out below:

New Music Video: Bx2:Lighter – MH the Verb

Before crafting what would eventually become 2017’s stellar Afronaut project, rapper MH THE VERB and producer Buscrates 16 Bit Ensemble first recorded ‘Bx:2 Lighter.’ The song served as the intro track to MH’s ‘The Balloon Guide’ LP, available now on all streaming/download sites.

‘The Balloon Guide LP’ serves as the soundtrack to MH’s subway ride from The Bronx to Brooklyn. ‘Bx:2 Lighter’ documents the beginning of his trip with the goal of retrieving his lighter from a girl he left it with the night before. Shot by J Pinder and directed by MH while touring the West Coast, the song’s music video is a re-introduction to an album that arguably marked some of MH’s most artistically formative years.

EP Review: The Sickness – Redd Tunes

Featuring a collection of tracks that could be appeasing to nostalgics of the old-school, London-based rapper/producer REDD TUNES slaps down his first project of the year, entitled ‘The Sickness.’

With loops of chill-out sounds that could be easily associated with Fila high tops (unlaced, of course), slick tracksuits complete with thick gold chains, this set pays homage to the real art of britcore and also expresses the concerns of the commercialisation of its parent – hip-hop – suppressing the realism of the sub-genre.

But there’s no chance of that as REDD TUNES and featured artists on this EP, are on a mission to keep the britcore vibe alive. The Sickness EP is a strong reminder that music is an extension of one’s expression – and not a commodity.

This set is definitely worth a trail; check it out here

New Track: Gotham – Boy Nash

South London-based rapper BOY NASH is back with a brand new single, ‘Gotham’ to kick-start the new year.

The new release samples a rather laid-back hip-hop sound by Mantis Media and thoughtfully tackles topics which strongly centre around the purpose of life and visions for the future.

‘Gotham’ follows his highly anticipated 2017 EP, ‘YMLK Pt. III Shacklesback’, which gained massive support from platforms such as LinkUp TV, GUAP and Explicit LDN.
