New Track: Ingredients – Coco (ft. Scrufizzer)

Kicking the weekend off with a massive bang, COCO drops his latest banger featuring Scrufizzer.

The track marks the occasion COCO and the Red Bull Music Academy held a launch party in his hometown, where he performed ‘Ingredients’ alongside Toddla T. To cap off an epic weekend, the sheffield spitter then opened the World Snooker Championship final with a re-work of ‘Big N Serious’, watched by over 4 million viewers!

Bringing an updated twist on grime’s blueprint, the track unleashes a taste of the classic grime sound, with COCO and Scrufizzer trading rapid-fire flows over a distorted bassline and full-bodied drums courtesy of Toddla T. Cooking up bars that explore realness in the scene, COCO represents Sheffield to the fullest and West Ealing MC Scrufizzer peppers ‘Ingredients’ with his trademark skippy flow – turning up the heat on the track’s second verse.

‘Ingredients’ brings to the boil a new Yorkshire and London connection, spicing up the original grime formula over a beat that will be savoured by fans of the genre and beyond. New Track: I’ma Hssla – B. Eveready (ft. J.Charles & Mike Body )

Born and bred in Boston, charged up worldsmith B. EVEREADY enlisted fellow musicians, J. Charles and Mike Body for his brand new single, ‘Im’a Hssla’, out last week on Bandcamp.

Reminiscent of that smooth 90s hip-hop/R&B, this emcee unsurprisingly tells the tale that he’s more than ready to grab the spotlight.

New Track: You – Rainbow Shark

Produced in the shadows of railway arches in their adopted home of Camberwell, South London, RAINBOW SHARK unveiled their new single ‘You’.

Their four-minute offering boasts merging contemporary electronic soundscapes coupled with elements of murky Bristol soul and haunting guest vocals, provided by Scandi songstress Monceyron.

Since first joining forces on a colourless Manchester afternoon, Jack Levy and Bill Wright have enjoyed glowing praise for both their recorded and live work. This first offering of 2017 sees the pair explore a more sultry side to their songwriting, following on from November’s ‘Level With Me’ – hotly tipped by the likes of Record of the Day, Gary Crowley at BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.

Album Review: Wond3rland – Dizzy Rambunctious

Unlike his previous project, ‘Arcadia’, which loosely takes inspiration from the theme tunes from classic arcade games, DIZZY RAMBUNCTIOUS switches it up and takes a complete detour with his latest mixtape, ‘Wond3rland’.

This time round, the New Jersey producer has adopted a real sublime soulful/rare groove-ish vibe to his usual trademark – that hip-hop/boom bap woofer of a bassline.

Now if you’re a follower of this guy, then you know he only deals with instrumentals – and you’ll also know he always hits you right between the eyes with a surprise – he recruited a few guest vocalists/spitters for this mammoth collection, which was most welcomed ( just have a listen the 6th track, ‘Zion’ featuring Phi & Shrls.)

I gotta give it to him; DIZZY RAMBUNCTIOUS has really stepped up his game – go and have a trial.

New Track: Come Alive – Gee Wizz

From the age of 16, Gregory Molinar – otherwise known as GEE WIZZ – has been going hard, as a hip-hop artist –  but by his mid-twenties, this Massachusetts emcee completely changed when he let The Lord, Jesus Christ into his life.

His latest track, appropriately entitled, ‘Come Alive’, essentially praises the big man upstairs for coming a better and stronger person and stresses the importance of having him in your everyday existence, over some smooth and atmospheric soundscapes.

There’s a series of singles plus an EP in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled here on NEW LEASE MUSIC…but for now, listen to his word and check out ‘Come Alive.’
