Song of the Day: Rolling – Ratlin (ft. Dun D)

Mozart Estate native RATLIN finishes up 2018 by teaming up with Dun D for latest cut ‘Rolling’, lifted from his currently untitled EP set to drop early 2019.

Released via GRM Daily, RATLIN, Dun D and their squad roll up in Amsterdam and capture their escapade for the visuals. Having been teased to snippets and behind the scenes shots of the video on his Instagram account, ‘Rolling’ has been eagerly anticipated by RATLIN’s fans and the likes of Spotify and Apple Music have heard that call too as the record instantly hit the ‘Best Of the Week’ playlist as well as ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘Rap UK’.

Classed as one of the most relevant and revered figures in the UK rap landscape today, RATLIN is a notable figure across platforms such as BBC 1Xtra, GRM Daily and Trench Magazine. He performed at Wireless Festival last year, sharing the stage with WSTRN and long-time collaborator Fredo, who he also supported on both of his sold-out UK tours this year and has worked with some of the scene’s most exciting artists including Avelino, Sneakbo, Abra Cadabra, Stylo G and Ayo Beatz, as well as veterans such as G FrSH, Lethal Bizzle and Blade Brown.

Warm up for RATLIN’s 2019 arsenal by taking in ‘Rolling’, tipped to be his biggest joints to date.

Song of the Day: Wash – J Appiah

Coming on the back of his previous single ‘Blinding’, which is being supported by Clash Magazine, Earmilk, Hypefresh Magazine and Love This Track, East London singer/songwriter J APPIAH is back with his latest single titled ‘Wash’,  In keeping with his deeply humanistic and personal songwriting, ‘Wash’ is both, J APPIAH coming to terms with the loss of a father he never knew, and a bittersweet meditation on the ‘what-ifs’ in life, with heart-stopping realness.

Speaking about the inspiration for ‘Wash’, J says: “This record is a conversation between a son and his father, and it’s also about spirituality. I wrote this song after a trip to India earlier this year. I came back so inspired by the culture, the colours, sounds, and people, I was just moved to write this song. My dad passed away a few days ago, and I never knew him, but I wrote this song at a period of time when we were trying to get in touch quite a bit after so many years. I guess he knew he was sick and had begun to reflect on life. The chorus of this song is written from his perspective”.

NEMI steps out of South London’s thriving scene and into the blog’s today hot spot with an anthemic R&B inspired single ‘Come For You’.
