Valntna Releases Powerful And Compelling Single, ‘Black Kingz’

Empowering, eloquent and unifying, VALNTNA conveys the world around her with considered hard-hitting lines and soulful softness in new single ‘Black Kingz’.

Premiered on BBC Radio 1Xtra with DJ Ace, the record made its poignant debut during Black History month ahead of the striking visuals, which are set to release in the last week of October. Lyrically dissecting the obstacles, the pain and suppression of black men, VALNTNA creates an uplifting message of unity, strength and power that can be accessed universally via her soulful and complex singing ability.

“I deliver a powerful message to shine a light on these issues, empowering all Black Kingz to come together, uplift themselves and each other & embrace the change that is distinctly upon us. Projecting Love, Healing & Unity” says the singer and songwriter from South London.

Produced by music duo, PINK87, who also helped curate VALNTNA’s previous single ‘CCW (Confidently Constantly Wrong)’, ’Black Kingz‘ flows with melodic variances guided by her R&B and soul influences, yet her customs and South London upbringing infiltrate her style making the product nostalgic but current.

Citing Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill as some of her influences, VALNTNA is an artist of technique, growth, and emotion, and ‘Black Kingz‘ displays each quality exceptionally. Italian-born/London based singer/songwriter, LISABEL has every potential to draw in the prospective listener with track, ‘A Work Of Art’. The soulful offering carries a nurturing tone that could be associated to the likes of Solange, Aretha Franklin and Erykah Badu.

Lisabel said of the single: “I wrote the song after falling in love with someone who to me represented a pure and loving soul that I trusted and wanted to celebrate.”

Song of the Day: The River – Jasper’s Riddle

JASPER RIDDLE‘s journey to music is something even Hollywood would bulk at. After beginning his studies to become a brain surgeon, he switched to his current vocation, that of heart surgeon…all the while continuing to record as both a Jeff Buckley-influenced acoustic singer songwriter…and a classical composer…and an artist…and a novelist. His debut release reflects his chameleon-like ability to soak up what is happening around him and to interpret it in his own unique way, with elements of rock, neo-soul and even flamenco heralding the arrival of a true 21st Century polymath.

JASPER RIDDLE is Lukas Zeickner, a Manchester-based medical student from a Nigerian background, comfortable singing in English, Edo or Spanish. The concept of JASPER RIDDLE was to record each track as its own self-contained story, including its own artwork, taking you on a journey through different styles and narratives, each combining to become a storybook.

Influenced by beacons of talent from across the world, from Aretha Franklin to Fela Kuti to Estas Tonne, each offering subtle imprints into his own sound. With an overarching love of Schubert, his fascination for science as well as the Arts has led to Lukas performing and producing all his own music, not to mention creating the accompanying artwork and a side-line in publishing novellas. New Track: Space – Phebe Edwards (ft. Cameron Bloomfield)

PHEBE EDWARDS graces her presence on NEW LEASE MUSIC with her latest single entitled ‘Space’.

Laced with a feather-light combo of chillwave and R&B, the track showcases this London-based singer/songwriter’s well poised and soulful instrument, yearning for freedom from a trapped relationship.

As a solo act, Phebe scored some success with debut single ‘Say Suttn’ charted at number 14 in the iTunes R&B chart within hours of its release. To date her most current releases and tour support for renowned artists Gabrielle, Sam Bailey and Louisa Johnson have pushed her fan base to over 12k.

New Music Video: Never Be – Nzilani

With a pop-driven vibe and smooth powerful vocals, NZILANI released the official video to single Never Be. The four-minute production is about debuting herself as an artist and about not being pigeon-holed or compared to other artists.

Having been fully immersed in the musical theatre and acting world since the age of just four, the 20-year-old has starred as Motormouth Maybell in Hairspray and even appeared in two Peppa Pig episodes.

Now living in London after spending eight years in Switzerland, NZILANI is ready to unleash her talent to the world. With idols such as Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson, NZILANI admires and draws influence on these strong unique characters, pushing her to make her own truly unique sound.

Never Be is the first release from her album, Swiss Intermission, coming out this Friday via iTunes.
