Valntna Releases Powerful And Compelling Single, ‘Black Kingz’

Empowering, eloquent and unifying, VALNTNA conveys the world around her with considered hard-hitting lines and soulful softness in new single ‘Black Kingz’.

Premiered on BBC Radio 1Xtra with DJ Ace, the record made its poignant debut during Black History month ahead of the striking visuals, which are set to release in the last week of October. Lyrically dissecting the obstacles, the pain and suppression of black men, VALNTNA creates an uplifting message of unity, strength and power that can be accessed universally via her soulful and complex singing ability.

“I deliver a powerful message to shine a light on these issues, empowering all Black Kingz to come together, uplift themselves and each other & embrace the change that is distinctly upon us. Projecting Love, Healing & Unity” says the singer and songwriter from South London.

Produced by music duo, PINK87, who also helped curate VALNTNA’s previous single ‘CCW (Confidently Constantly Wrong)’, ’Black Kingz‘ flows with melodic variances guided by her R&B and soul influences, yet her customs and South London upbringing infiltrate her style making the product nostalgic but current.

Citing Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill as some of her influences, VALNTNA is an artist of technique, growth, and emotion, and ‘Black Kingz‘ displays each quality exceptionally. Her ability to openly challenge important topics and call for unity within the black communities is bold, impactful and necessary. Check out this gem below…

J.Kas x Ruell Slams Down Summer-Ready track ‘BonBon’.

Rapper J.KAS calls upon long-time collaborator, upcoming R&B singer Ruell, to offer some much needed distraction away from the chaotic current events with latest single, ‘BonBon’.

Ruell takes the lead in the summer-charged joint, exchanging his smooth afterhours vocals for a melodic/rock steady-esque flow, which melts right into the vibrant fusion of tropical house and Dancehall. BBC Sheffield-approved J.Kas takes over and adds extra fire with his gutsy MC-delivery.

Previously featured on J. Kas’ soulful/R&B jams, ‘Snapchat (Ain’t No Killing My Vibe)’ and ‘Cali Dreaming’, Ruell has branched out and released his debut solo single, ‘Tiffany’, where J.Kas returns the favour and features on the R&B/trap production.

Besides being a seasoned wordsmith, who received firm support from BBC1’s Huw Stephens, BBC 1xtra’s Charlie Sloth and DJ Ace and BBC Sheffield’s Christian Carlisle, J.Kas is the founder of trendy streetwear, Tokyo Red, established in 2015.

Available now on SpotifyiTunesTidalDeezer and Google Play, ‘BonBon’ follow’s J.Kas’ Afrobeat/Dancehall number, ‘Amsterdam’.

Rée Celine Keeps It On The ‘Downlow’ With Brand New Single

Following the raving reviews and airplay of her debut single, ‘The Way You Love’, on BBC 1Xtra (Nadia Jae, DJ Ace), On Top Fm, Reprezent and Croydon FM, South London born singer/songwriter REÉ CELINE releases her follow up single ‘Down Low’ (#TWYL)

The comfort of being intimate with someone who is familiar with you and your body coupled with the secrecy of messing around is exciting. Being on the ‘Down Low’ also prevents unwanted opinions.

Teaming up with Producer RonnyBeats and JAYKEBEATS, ‘Downlow’ possess a contemporary R&B vibe with a kick of 00’s old skool breakdown. Drawing inspiration from Brandy and Sevyn for this song both lyrically and vocally, it is playful, straight forward, demanding and raw – no filter. Co Written with Tendai ‘Down Low’ allows Celine to showcase her vocals and maturity even at the tender age of 19 years old.

Song of the Day: No Regrets – Hayley Cassidy

Following on from the success of her debut album ‘Stripped’ in 2013 (featured three singles on BET International’s playlist) and a 5-year hiatus, HAYLEY CASSIDY released ‘Used to Be’ in January 2018, which instantly gained credibility as DJ Ace’s (BBC 1xtra) ‘Everything R&B Record of the Week’.

Fast-forward to 2019, the smooth songstress has been insanely busy working on a two-part EP entitled ‘The Low Key Effect,’ as well as recording a brand new album.

This year, the Londoner jumped into the lab with rising UK producer XVR BLCK to pen and create a melodically, heartfelt record with a heavy bass line, entitled ‘No Regrets.’

Hayley’s, caramel-like vocals relay a common situation of a past relationship being amazing while it lasted, but all good things come to an end. Life can’t be lived in reverse, however the good moments will always be cherished, with no hard feelings or no regrets.
