Album Review: African Fabrics – Daniel Haaksman

African Fabrics Daniel Haaksman

Berlin-based DJ and producer DANIEL HAAKSMAN is, without question, the forerunner of  giving world music that punch of excitement and he certainly makes no exceptions in the latest album, African Fabrics.

The 11-track effort boasts the fiercest Afrobeats going with the equally fierce electronic drive –  a sweet yet explosive combination that never brings a dull moment.

It’s definitely a groundbreaker – experience (what I call) tropical house for yourself; hit that play button NOW!

Must Listens: Senbene, Kaggua, Black Coffee, Quendo

EP Review: Feather Weight Soul Tape Vol. II : Mellowtape – Robin Mitchell

Robin Mitchell Feather weight soul

Feather Weight Soul Tape Vol. 2: Mellowtape
is the perfect introduction to British smooth operator ROBIN MITCHELL.

So what to expect from this Bristol-based singer/songwriter? Well the title of the EP says it all really…super light, mellow, summertime melodies (with the hints of soul and afrobeats) which is topped off by Mitchell’s soothing and dreamy vocals. The 4-track production was released last month, perfect timing for those lazy summer days.

Have a listen and you’ll be greeted by the cheeky fi-lo intro, Blip.

Must listen tracks: Soliloquy, The Trick, From the Waist Up

Star Song: Here With You – PW

PW

Today’s song is Here With You by British rapper PW. This track is coming from his EP, From PW With Love.

Here With You has been played on underground as well as commercial radio stations such as BBC 1Xtra and playlisted on Choice Fm’s A List, played in between the likes of RIHANNA, JAY-Z and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE.

This track definitely deserves the recognition, as it features an on-point infusion of hip-hop, garage with a hint of afro-beats – go on, have a listen.  If you’re feeling the love from PW, return the love and head over to this SoundCloud page, where hear his upstarter’s other tracks.

Now this is just the beginning for this talented Londoner.  This guy has appeared on endless of online and print publications, finding his way to the front cover of British popular magazine Young Voices. He also supported acts like DAPPY, MINDLESS BEHAVIOR and CONOR MAYNARD. Best of all, he made his headline debut at the sold-out show at The Garage in London earlier this year.

Like I said, this is just the beginning for PW – so remember the name!
