New Track: On Me – Miles Glyphers

Setting a smooth tone for the summer, MILES GLYPHERS dropped his brand new single, ‘On Me’ on Friday.

The slick production comes from common collaborator Sound Of Fractures (Raye, Scott Quinn, Ritual). Inspired by his upbringing and real life experiences, the song explores Miles’ realisation that while people (and life itself) may try to bring you down, but it’s on you to stand tall and prevail.

The 21-year-old rapper who was born in Ivory Coast, in Africa, before fleeing the war-torn country to stay at a refugee camp in Guinea. At 11 years of age, Miles finally moved to the safe-haven that was Sydney, Australia.

Since 2015, MILES GLYPHERS has had a monumental rise, with in excess of 160,000 Spotify streams and kudos from Noisey, Clash Magazine and Highsnobiety among others.

This is powerful stuff…check out ‘On Me.’

Song of the Day: By The Lake – Blaccc Lotus

NEW LEASE MUSIC is glad to see old fav BLACCC LOTUS still doing his thing. His last appearance was back in September with the sinisterly dark track, ‘SS 96’.

Now the conscious emcee presents an offering that’s equally sinister and dense…it’s worth checking out!

Song of the Day: Ridah – Kreative (ft. Yang)

KREATIVE makes a quick return to the Monday’s hotspot, with latest single, ‘Ride’, which could be described as the continuation to the bittersweet break-up note, ‘Free Fallin’.

Sporting a summery-chilled rock/pop vibe, ‘Ride’ is all about having that special someone sticking by your side through thick and thin…before reaching breaking point.

A great track to start your week with…have a listen.

New Music Video: No More Letters – Cadet

Dropping movie-like visuals, CADET releases ‘No More Letters’ aka ‘Letter To Krept (Part 2)’ taken from the eagerly anticipated ‘The Commitment 2’ E.P, due for release on 21st July.

A hugely prominent track in the understanding of this lyricist’s journey, the impeccable timing of the release is even more poignant. Delving into the mechanisms of CADET and his positioning within the elite of Britain’s emcees, one of the most pivotal moments of his career thus far was with the release of his original ‘Letter To Krept’ in August 2016. Within the original record, CADET refers to Krept unexpectedly taking him to Wireless Festival. The moment is life changing for him as he is able to envisage that one-day, he too, could perform his own slot. Fast forward to July 2017 and CADET delivers ‘No More Letters’. The record is a statement and a nod to Krept, which feels like the perfect beginning of a new chapter for the rapper. Journeys have been completed, peace has been restored and ambitions have been fulfilled as taking it full circle, CADET is set to perform his own slot at Wireless on 8th July.

Having already released the first taste of ‘The Commitment 2’ via the release of ‘Instagram Girls’ featuring Konan, CADET continues to use his music in an astute way that is shrouded in deeper meanings and insightfulness, yet with a playful and accessible magnetism. His work has already been championed by, BBC Radio 1/1Xtra DJ’s, Semtex and Charlie Sloth, whilst tastemaker magazines such as Notion and Complex hold him in high regard, tipping him for continued success. Public co-signs from UK’s music kings including Wiley and Stormzy lead the excitement surrounding CADET and ‘The Commitment 2’.

Mixtape Review: Bean$tock Presents Jay Boogie Bawse – Roses

Boston hip-hop collective BEAN$TOCK is back with another full set entitled, ‘Bean$stock Presents Jay Boogie Bawse – Roses’, pushing its youngest member Jay Boogie Bawse into the spotlight.

Unlike the previous mixtape, ‘Live From District 3’, the ten-track offering takes on a more subdue theme with Jay’s kick back flow, delivering some serious one-liners over a woof of a bassline – so do keep your ears open, as this spitter knows how to crack a punchline.

‘Bean$stock Presents Jay Boogie Bawse – Roses’ is probably one of the most well-produced mixtapes I have heard in a long while…and I’m not just saying this for the hell of it. As a collective, they’re serious about their climb – so you better check this hot one out!
