Australian rapper MILES GLYPERS unveiled his latest track, Dollar and a Dream, taken from the new EP, Third World Child.

In the four-minute smooth offering, Miles – originally from Ivory Coast – questions the real definition of the word home, a question prompted from his nomadic life as a youngster. The  alternative hip-hopper moved to Sydney with his family at the age of 11, after living in the New Guinea for a short while.

Just under two years ago, he released his debut mixtape Twisted Youth including the singles They are Free, Out of Time and Lake House, which were supported online by Noisey and i-D. He was also hailed ‘one to watch’ by Complex and is currently Sampa the Great’s favourite up & coming artist.

EP Review: Chirality – XamVolo

xamzolo-chirality-ep

If you heard of XAMVOLO then you’ll certainly heard his leading soulful/jazz number, Down…and if you dig the single, well you’ll be in for a treat with his four-track EP, Chirality.

The laid-lack set is, by large, a continuation of Down – a hazy juxtaposition of the aforementioned genres, which showcase a Sade-level of class – and that’s REALLY hard to top.

With irresistibly hypnotic pieces that can be hailed as modern classics, this (clever) cool cat has positioned himself as a promising and timeless artist who will have music fanatics, all from generations, buying his future projects blind. If you’re not convinced, hit that play button.

Must Listens: Down, Gold Leaf

Upcoming Release: Hype – A.M. SNiPER (ft. Curren$y)

Hype AM Siper

A.M. SNiPER flashes back into the limelight with Hype, the first single from his forthcoming debut album.

The British-Cypriot rapper is renowned for teaming up with some of the biggest names in music across both the UK and US scenes from his base in Ayia Napa (the original hotspot and mainstay for UK Garage, Grime and Urban music in Europe), hosting and collaborating with a bonafide plethora of stars including Chris Brown, Tyga, Rick Ross, Wiley, JME, Julian Marley, Dj Jaguar Skills and Memphis Bleek.

For his latest banger,  A.M. joins forces with one of hiphop’s undisputed underground kings, New Orleans rapper Curren$y, long-term friend and collaborator of Wiz Khalifa. The track  boasts a late-night jam that oozes understated class.

A.M. SNiPER’s musical prowess stems as far back as the early 2000s, where as a budding teenager in the UK Garage pioneers’ So Solid Crew, he produced a third of their sophomore album. This finesse and adept appreciation of authenticity and culture is reflected on the new single. The track samples A Tribe Called Quest’s Butter with vocal cuts from the late Phife Dawg and pays tribute to similar icons – Bob Marley for instance – two artists concerned with the art and the vision rather than the hype.

Hype will be available on iTunes from 24th June…but for now, check out the visual to the single.

New Track: Coldest Season – View

View coldest season

Finland’s hottest hip-hop export VIEW makes an icy return with his new single, Coldest Season, released last Friday via VILD Recordings.

With its icy-entrancing beats and introspective wordplay, Coldest Season is a darker offering compared to the previous single, Lace feat electro duo LCMD, which was supported by The 405 and The Line Of Best Fit. The single is taken from View’s upcoming debut album which will be released later in the year.

Following the success of his debut EP Avalon, Helsinki based View – real name Juuso Ruohonen – has already made a name for himself in his homeland with his own brand of darkly hypnotic beats and introspective lyrics. Favouring minimalism and low-toned sounds, the 23-year-old focuses on personal issues such as depression and identity, giving his music a rare and poignant honesty.

The Coldest Season is now available via iTunes…but for now, check out the black and white visual to the single.
