New Track: You Got Me Good – ARIA

Following on from ‘Shot In The Dark’, this year marks the release of ARIA’s debut EP. The initial idea for the first single ‘Hope’ – released in July 2017 – was born out of an improvisation in a band rehearsal. Already championed ‘Hope’ is a song that exhibits incredible soulfulness through a veil of dreamy-pop thrills. Tastemakers including The Line Of Best Fit, Spindle Magazine and Popjustice were quick to support this return from the London-based singer-songwriter.

Now with the release of the EP drawing closer, the next single ‘You Got Me Good’ communicates a darker realisation of relationship hardships. Synth hooks twinkle amidst mystical slow-building brooding guitars, marking the single as ARIA’s most touching and personal release to date.

ARIA’s propulsive pop qualities are adaptable and captivating. This is demonstrated in her EP set for release before the end of the year, which displays an eclectic mix of musical genres – spanning from electro-pop and soul to R&B…but for now listen to the stunning, ‘ You Got Me Good.’

New Music Video: Love Letter – Half Brother

Murkage Dave and Patrick Scally, otherwise known as HALFBROTHER, have unveiled the dreamy and mesmeric visual for their new track ‘Love Letter’.

Directed by the award-winning designer and art director Kate Moross (Dazed & Confused, Vogue, NYLON) the video was shot in Dungeness, on the English Coast and follows last month’s release of the single. Written and produced by the duo and previously premiered on The Independent with further support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Notion and 1Xtra. The track is the follow-up to their debut single ‘Go Tell The Mandem’, which i-D described as ‘quietly profound’ and ‘remarkably lucid’, and its Jeremy Cole and Marco Grey directed visuals and February’s ‘Sweet Talk’.

Earlier this month, the duo brought their first performance as a duo to The Old Blue Last as the main opening act for Star Slinger whilst this year they are set to release their debut album ‘Men Can’t Protect You Anymore’ which will feature their unique take on alternative R&B influenced sounds and exciting collaborations with UK Hip-Hop artist Oscar #worldpeace.

I.AM.WILLOW debuts the music video for her debut single Satellite, a soaring, sweeping pop song “about giving that special relationship a second chance.”

Her music is a cinematic-pop explosion of influences, highlighted by the contrasting subtlety and power of her vocals, melodic arrangements and evocative lyricism.

The London-based, Malta-born musician, who counts Annie Lennox as a fan, has gained support from BBC Introducing, Q Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, and Time Out (Top 5 Rising Stars of 2015) over the past 12 months.

Watch out for her  EP,  coming in 2017…but for now, check out the video to Satellite.

Song of the Day: Low Key (SRNO Remix) – Vanessa White

vanessa-white

VANESSA WHITE  receives an attention-grabbing treatment of her latest R&B/soul single, Low Key from SRNO.

Coming from her second upcoming solo EP, Second Chapter, the original version has generated high praises from major taste makers including Complex UK, The Line of Best Fit and Wonderland Magazine as well as receiving airplay on Trevor Nelson’s BBC 1Xtra Show – and over 100,000 listens on SoundCloud.

However the seriously sensual, after hours makeover from Amsterdam producer SRNO has definitely caught the attention of NEW LEASE MUSIC, making it a very well-deserved dish of the day – hope you guys  agree!

It’s time to listen for yourself.

New Track: Coldest Season – View

View coldest season

Finland’s hottest hip-hop export VIEW makes an icy return with his new single, Coldest Season, released last Friday via VILD Recordings.

With its icy-entrancing beats and introspective wordplay, Coldest Season is a darker offering compared to the previous single, Lace feat electro duo LCMD, which was supported by The 405 and The Line Of Best Fit. The single is taken from View’s upcoming debut album which will be released later in the year.

Following the success of his debut EP Avalon, Helsinki based View – real name Juuso Ruohonen – has already made a name for himself in his homeland with his own brand of darkly hypnotic beats and introspective lyrics. Favouring minimalism and low-toned sounds, the 23-year-old focuses on personal issues such as depression and identity, giving his music a rare and poignant honesty.

The Coldest Season is now available via iTunes…but for now, check out the black and white visual to the single.
