New track: He Ain’t Me – Ricardo Williams

Produced by Sillkey (Wiley, Jacob Banks, Vanessa White) ‘He Ain’t Me’ takes you through a real journey with Ricardo’s mellifluous vocal. The peak is reached at the bridge where his effortless harmonies demand the attention of anyone who is listening. Sillkey’s contemporary beats balance perfectly with Ricardo’s naturally nostalgic vocal style and the song truly displays him as arguably one of the brightest current R&B artists from the UK.

Talking about the meaning behind the song, Ricardo says “I wanted to write a song specifically for the ladies. I’m not going to lie, women have it hard. A lot of the time it’s us men that do not make it easy, so I wanted to write something to remind women that there are good guys out there. I want women to know that they are special, beautiful, valued and more than enough, despite their past experiences and what they’ve been told or shown!”

‘He Ain’t Me’ follows Ricardo’s last single ‘Come Over’ which was featured as DJ Ace’s Track of The Week on BBC 1Xtra. He partnered with fellow R&B peers J Warner, Jordan King and Mark Asari for the remix which premiered on BBC 1Xtra. Support was also received from Manny Norte on Capital Xtra, The Beat London, Pulse88 Radio, Reprezent, Westside FM, Mi-Soul and more.

Overall 2018 is going to be a big year with the release of new music and performances as Ricardo looks forward to supporting Faith Evans on her upcoming London, Birmingham and Manchester tour dates on 20th-22nd July.

Song of the Day: Bit By Bit – Jareth

London-based JARETH has unveiled the next cut to be lifted from her debut solo EP, her new single ‘Bit By Bit’ premiered online via COMPLEX and on-air with DJ Ace at 1Xtra.

Having previously lent her commanding vocals to collaborations with Rene LaVice, Bashy, Lioness and Ghetts, this year’s release of ‘Kaleidoscope’ and it’s Hybrid Minds remix picked up strong support from the likes of CLASH, Trench Magazine and UKF, alongside multiple spins on Twin B’s BBC 1Xtra show and a playlist addition from Spotify Denmark. ‘Bit By Bit’ continues to showcase JARETH as a master of her craft, as her voice glides effortlessly above lusciously orchestrated strings. Championed by will.i.am and having penned tracks for Cheryl and Chris Lake, the singer-songwriter is due to release her EP, ‘Moonchild’, later this year through new label Moonshot Music.

The new single sees JARETH working with producer Charlie J Perry (Jorja Smith, Maverick Sabre, Samm Henshaw) again and building on the blissfully soulful soundscape that made ‘Kaleidoscope’ so intoxicating. Telling a personal story of having to put ‘yourself back together again in the dark after being broken in the light’, JARETH has found strength in her vulnerability and only truly began to understand herself when she was at her weakest.

With JARETH’s expressive vocal at the core of the track, mirrored by delicate piano and washes of cinematic strings, ‘Bit By Bit’ is undoubtedly a standout from the forthcoming EP and really celebrates her unique talent…so start your Monday right and listen to ‘Bit By Bit.’

New Track: Icey – Ironik (ft. Fekky)

As one of the most important cross generational/cross genre artists that originally put grime on the map globally, IRONIK  releases his latest record ‘Icey’, featuring Rap heavyweight, Fekky.

A grime and trap hybrid, IRONIK presents admirable confidence from his years of experience that definitely translates through his latest single and the body of work it is taken from. Featuring Fekky, who has previously collaborated with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Skepta, Ghetts, Chip, Giggs and Shakka, the track is braggadocious and lyrically the hardest to be taken from the album.

With one of the most talked about returns of 2017 ‘Truth Be Told’ has received impressive recognition with over 200k+ album streams and making it on to BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Capital networks, whilst PAPER Mag, The Hype Magazine, GRM Daily and Link Up TV have all supported his return online. The support adds to his lengthy list of previous achievements that include a number 5 official chart position, a top 5 single, one top 10 single, a top 10 album and over a million record sales.

Previous records such as ‘Watch Nuttin’ featuring Ayo Beatz climbed through radio playlists and ‘Icey’ is set to provide yet another benchmark for Ironik as he crosses in to the rap world…checkout the video for ‘Icey’ via GRM Daily:

New Music Video: Swimming – Cherri V (ft. Roxxann)

Beginning the year with sultry single ‘Swimming’,  which has been garnering strong early support from BBC 1Xtra plus others, CHERRI V returns with the accompanying visuals for her latest offering.

Produced by Asylum 33, who have previously worked with Tinie Tempah, Mr. Eazi, Shakka, and Bonkaz, among others, the music video for ‘Swimming’ sees Cherri V and RoxXxan bringing a more relaxed and organic visual element to the experimental R&B production, as they party among friends, while the British R&B/Soul singer/songwriter gets to know her leading man, without the usual pressures that come with meeting someone new.

Speaking of the inspiration for her ‘Swimming’ visuals, British R&B/Soul singer/songwriter said, “I’m glad Asylum 33 were able to capture that house party relaxed feel. I also wanted to take a little more of a casual approach for this video, compared to ‘Leave Me Be’, and shove my real friends in front of the camera lol. The shots in the pool were a highlight for me! I’m really proud of this visual”.

New Music Video: Woah – Kritz93 (ft.E. Mak)

KRITZ93, E.Mak and Sunny Kale – the producer behind Stormzy’s hit ‘100 Bags’ – cooked up a straight-talking banger entitled ‘Woah’. Taking a unapologetically raw street approach, this brand new hot collab is already tearing up the underground grime scene.

Gaining initial exposure from DJ Target, who cherry picked the record as his ‘Targo Embargo’ in early January, KRITZ93 took to the BBC Radio 1Xtra airwaves to introduce himself and his record to the nation and it has since been hot on the selection lists across Kiss Fresh, Radar Radio, Westside FM.

A newcomer to the game, KRITZ93 spent the entirety of 2017 recording and releasing music, freestyles and videos online, building a respectable stock of well-received and supported music. He was also found collaborating and featuring on a selection of tracks, which included ‘G’s Dem’ for DJ P Montana’s Rah Boy – Vol 1 mixtape. Teaming up with E. Mak on the record, who’s profile has recently soared from his release ‘Yo!’, the pair chopped it up over a hybrid of melodic genres and vowed to jump back in to the studio together quickly, resulting in the creation of ‘Woah’…check out the video.
